Eddie Kingston vs Cody [c]

What a surprise for Kingston fans and what an even bigger surprise for NWA fans. So glad to see Kingston working, he’s a solid asset and great on the mic, something AEW is in desperate need of. Cody won of course, no surprise there.

MJF vs Griff Garrison

It was all one big goofy joke to me, I feel like putting MJF in matches like this is the reason why he won’t be a difference maker as a main event act. Why the hell is Grif Garrison given more mic time than so many others? Why is he given a match with a “top guy”? So many questions about this booking decision.

Kitchen match

The best thing AEW has done in a very long time, reminds me of when Proud and Powerful were actually booked strong and they were feuding with the Elite. Butcher and Blade are dead and buried, they should be banished to dark where they belong but I fear that they will be booked better than teams like the Lucha Bros and Best Friends and even SCU. My question is this, why have a falls count anywhere match and even go near a wrestling ring? Another booking mistake the wrestling community and fans will overlook I suppose.

Ivelisse vs Diamante

It’s an AEW women’s division match, not much more to say. I really wish that wasn’t the case. I’m rooting for this division but they aren’t really trying; if they are, that’s truly a shame.

Hangman Page [c] vs Five

The same thing I said about MJF is exactly what I’m going to say here. When you put a guy that’s supposed to be a big deal at some point in matches against nobodies they will have trouble getting over later; it’s called bad booking. I fear Hangman Page won’t stay over when it’s time to pull the trigger on him and this is why, it’s exactly what they did to him in the lead up to his title match, they cooled him off.

Inner Circle vs Jurassic Express

That such a dumb name but besides that you know you’re going to get a well structured match. The best tag team division in the world is something that a minority has been saying and all of a sudden people just believed it. Inner Circle has been buried and booked into obscurity, a sort of living death by being on television but not relevant at all. Jurassic Express is also another team that is the victim of 50/50 booking. They simply aren’t credible because they lose too much, which is why I always have a hard time caring about their matches even though I like them.

Honorable mentions

  1. Tazz promo. Not really a fan anymore, they are just the same, scream in your face and curse, rants that we have been getting.

  2. Starks, Allin, Moxley and Cage collide.

  3. Sammy Guevara returns. Why’d they even suspend him if it was gonna be less than a month?

Final take

I feel like all I ever do is complain about their booking and never give them a chance however, I’m still watching, that’s all the chance I need to give them. I can still be won over, I’m still here. The show was better than most, especially with the Bucks doing what they do best. Things aren’t feeling as disjointed as they usually do, making a more cohesive show that’s better digested and well received by fans.
