Evil Uno and Stu Greyson vs Young Bucks
Dark Order attack Young Bucks from behind as they come out. The going under the ring spot with Matt Jackson was clever but not what AEW should be doing, it’s WWE comedy, AEW isn’t supposed to be doing that kind of stuff, they promised. Bucks were dominated for most of the match but a cheap roll up victory made the Bucks and their opponents look silly.
The presidential trail
MJF continues to shine, mostly because his suits look a million times better; he’s also a brilliant promo. Moxley surprises MJF and his security by coming out of the entrance instead of the crowd. Another homerun segment except Moxley’s promo afterwards. Who was that asshole “in gorilla position” trying to get on tv while Moxley did his promo?! It undermined the whole thing.
Scorpio Sky vs Cody(c)
The prince of wrestling?! Yeah, Cody definitely doesn’t have a big head, he’s super humble guys. The prince of wrestling is also just a lame name especially since Triple H is “the king”. Cody should just stay away from that type of crap.
Add a little glitter and things look a little better, just a little bit though, the TNT title is still pretty awful. Great entrance from Scorpio, not the door thing but the camera in the sky, great touch. Meanwhile Cody comes out with the entire nightmare family, how much does this guy get?, His wife, his brother, a legend, his friend and his friends companion?! Damn!
Brandi sends shots to cornette by carrying her action figure with her but what she doesn’t understand is that she took away an opportunity from another wrestler, a good one, Shida, Riho, Nyla or Britt Baker, scorpio Sky, etc. The list goes on and on. So in her petty act she is missing the whole point.
Mike Chioda casually strolls out and gets a shit introduction by commentary, shoulda been a major announcement, instead they just mention it on the fly. The match was good as you would expect from two solid in-ring performers. Brodie lee appears on the big screen and challenges Cody next week. Brodie has the old, slightly uglier TNT title with him to put a little umph in his promo.
Tag team appreciation
FTR, Rock n Roll Express, Young Bucks, Arn and Tully share the ring together, all reflecting on their great careers.
Matt Jackson says the Rock N Roll Express were the first Young Bucks, what kind of egotistical shit is that? I get what he’s saying but it should be “we are the next Rock N Roll Express” they put themselves first, undermining the careers and longevity of the legendary duo. Matt mentioned Marty Jannetty as well haha.
Things are going along fine, the segment is cool then I find myself asking “why did FTR cut a babyface promo?! This is why AEW isn’t good, there is no consistency. It’s also why FTR isn’t good either, they don’t have defined characters, they are excellent in-ring performers but they are just two regular dudes who are bitter about not getting enough recognition; they need more definition. Everyone kissing the Bucks’ asses got old and I almost turned it off until Arn Anderson left when Shawn Spears came out. Chaos ensued and FTR took out the Rock N Roll Express to solidify their heel characters…see gets I meant earlier about the.?
Shida [c] vs Heather Monroe
JR points out that Shida’s opponent is Heather Monroe and that it’s her debut. Why is your champion wrestling people in their debut match? This is yet another time they’ve done this with Shida. Again, why would she get in so much offense? Monroe doesn’t even look like an athlete, a common problem within their women’s division as well as every other division. Tony talks to Shida and I guess she’s being built up somehow, hard to tell with the absolutely abismal booking.
Orange Cassidy vs Jericho
The biggest win of his life, that’s what we kept hearing, telegraphing the entire thing.
Jericho tried to bribe Chioda before the match but nothing would stop Cassidy from getting what he worked so hard for. Great match for Cassidy who looked great. The first half of the match was a walk and brawl but they got back in the ring and were able to work a solid match. Cassidy wins and we better see him go up against a heel TNT Champion soon to get the most out of his push.

Jurassic Express vs Omega [c] & Page [c].The roster really is thin, this match was pointless. That was for the titles?!
Lance Archer has a weird mini segment where he embarrasses Jake the Snake.
I thought the camera above was just something special for Scorpio Sky but they kept using it and it wasn’t special anymore.
Final take
Not bad, their best show in quite some time. The show is watchable when there are stories driving the action. Even though the booking of Shida was a nightmare I can at least see where a majority of the rest of the show is going.
