Trent vs Omega

Far too long of a match, it makes Trent look good but it drags Kenny down a bit. Kenny has done great work in AEW, he is one of the best wrestlers in the world so of course he has. Trent is doing a good job of remaining relevant in singles competition.

Shida vs Anna Jayy

Shida and Britt Baker exchange heated words extending their rivalry. Good stuff from Anna Jayy, her and Shida worked well together. I have not been impressed much with the women’s division but this was a decent match. It was great compared to the matches the women’s division usually churns out. Shida needs to have that title as soon as fans are allowed to return to venues.

Lance Archer debuts 

Jake the Snake has a vignette before Archer makes his way to the ring, something that should have been done way in advance but it still worked fine. So Lance Archer debuted against Marco fucking Stunt, way to legitimize a big guy by throwing him in the ring with someone that many people view as a joke. It’s like being in the ring with Hornswoggle, not because of size but because of the lack of skill; Marko Stunt doesn’t do much in-ring.

Stop being QuTe

QT Marshall, Dustin and Brandi beat 8&9 of the Dark Order. What was the purpose of this booking? The Exalted One disciplined his disciples for their loss but the loss was even worse because it brings down the Dark Order. QT and the Dark Order minions aren’t going to give you a competitive match so who cares about their matches?

Spears!

So glad that Shawn Spears is finally getting a spotlight. They have done nothing of note with him since Cody. Did they turn Darby Allin or are they just adding heat to the feud between him and Cody? It’s obviously the second one but why have Darby attack Cody at all, just let Darby be a babyface without having to do something heelish so that Cody can look good…

And Tony Schiavone just gave away the fucking results of two matches!

2. Moxley vs Hager vignette.

3. Brodie Lee is missing with this goofy Vince McMahon spoof. We already know he’s weird and we’ve known that for years, it’s nothing new.

Final take

Already turned off with Cody being a constant centerpiece but Cody did become more comfortable as the show went on, he’s like a dry, quiet golf commentator so it works in a weird way.

The wrestlers around the ring was ok. Tournament brackets were revealed for the secondary men’s title and I was excited about the tournament until Tony Schiavone fucked that all up.
