Andrade vs Apollo [c]

Apollo Crews wins a very competitive match even though Garza tried to help. KO stunned Garza so that his interference wouldn’t be a factor in the outcome of the match. Garza/KO is a good midcard feud to hold the two over before their next push. Apollo needs a real threat like Seth to add some legitimacy to his title reign. Knocking off Seth would validate Apollo the way that he needs to be taken seriously.

Sheamus vs Jeff Hardy

Good match, much like the one they had on SmackDown recently. I was pretty sure Jeff Hardy was going to take this one but Sheamus managed to win. I want another match from these two and since Extreme Rules is the next PPV I’m sure I will. The score is 1-1 the rubber match will be on Jeff Hardy’s home turf.

Tag team turmoil

Cross Bliss vs Sasha [c] & Bayley [c][[c] vs IIconics

Corey Graves gave away his character in one sentence, he now believes in Sasha and Bayley friendship. For years Graves has been calling Sasha a snake, now he suddenly knows that they are best friends. No one stood out except Nikki Cross, she tends to out perform the competition with just the basics. IIconics looked good but I just wanted more, a better story is what should be told in these tag matches, they need a team like AoP to up the stakes and level of competition. The women’s division could also use a midcard title that travels from brand to brand to showcase more talent, much like the tag titles do.

Sasha and Bayley retain, moving on to face Shotzi Blackheart and Teagan Knox.

Nia Jax vs Asuka [c]

Good match, lousey finish. We all know that Asuka is great and that she can drag good matches out of anyone. With that said, booking a bad finish to a match will undermine even the most talented wrestler. No reason the story between the two can’t continue with a clean finish. A double count out on a PPV is lame.

Braun Strowman [c] vs Miz & Morrison

Very surprised we didn’t see the Fiend take Braun out after his win. We are not sure when we get Braun and the Fiend but it needs to be soon because the Fiend has been off of television an awfully long time. What’s next for Miz & Morrison is the biggest question. John Morrison could be Universal Champion right now but what to do with the Miz if that were to happen?

Viking Profits

It was like watching an 80s movie…I loved it. It was so bad it was good, they knew exactly what they were doing. The two teams went back and forth, beating each other up jumping the shark in every scene, raising the level of ridiculous each time. There were even ninjas in the segment. On top of it all, they never even had their match.

Drew McIntyre [c] vs Bobby Lashley

The way Lashley attacked Drew before the bell made things very interesting, starting McIntyre behind the 8 ball was a strong move. As predicted, Lana made her way to the ring and the distraction cost Bobby Lashley an opportunity at winning the match.

The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever!

What can be said that Twitter won’t already say and complain about? Meltzer will give it a stupid low star rating for no reason other than to be a hater. The enhanced audio made the match a little better but it also reminded me of why live crowds are so important.

Honorable mentions

  1. Commentary was inconsistent at times.

Final take

Some lame finishes but overall a good show with memorable segments. The main show was only 3 hours long, you can’t beat that for main roster WWE shows. There was still about 30 minutes they could have trimmed from the show as well. Still, it was a show that got things done and moved some stories. Extreme Rules is the next big event, lots of payoffs coming up in that show for sure.
