The prelims were absolutely incredible, putting on a display of excellence for the world to see. The excellent continued on to the main card with ease.

Maincard

Valerie Loureda vs Colby Fletcher

Offense galore by Valerie Loureda with lots of different looks for Colby Fletcher to digest. The 20 year old had an incredible debut, showing some stunning knockout power. One hell of a combo took Colby down and the hammerfist took her out.

Valerie Loureda via TKO

Erick Silva vs Yaroslav Amosov

Quick exchanges with Yaroslav Amosov on the outside for most of round one. They slowed the pace down near the close of the round. Silva was rocked by Amosov, becoming slower and more predictable.

The takedown by Amosov came early in the second round, followed by a crazy side German suplex. Silva had to fight off his back for the rest of the round, being utterly dominated.

Round three featured two weary warriors that struggled with some stamina for a second. Erick Silva attempted to stand but couldn’t remain on his feet. Amosov stayed on top to cruise to a unanimous victory and move to 21-0!

Yaroslav Amosov via unanimous decision

Cheick Kongo vs Vitaly Minakov

Swinging for the fences ain’t the way to go. Vitaly Minakov threw some wild punches, leaving himself open but Cheick Kongo failed to capitalize. Not much action in the first just a few haymakers. Minakov landed a shot and dropped Kongo but only momentarily.

Round two had very few punches thrown in it at all. The crowd booed and Ric Flair “woo” chants began.

Kongo chopped away at Minakov’s leg as round 3 began. Minokav caught Kongo’s leg for a takedown and worked for a submission that never came. A very uncharacteristically poor performance by Cheick Kongo. He had a big flurry at the closing moments of the fight but it wasn’t nearly enough in my eyes.

Both guys are two one dimensional to pose any real threat to the champ champ.

Cheick Kongo via unanimous decision

Mirko Cro Cop vs Roy Nelson

I have a buddy in attendance at the fights, he was just as impressed with Roy Nelson’s stature as he was Cheick Kongo’s. Round one went to Roy for the grappling attempts. Mirko Cro Cop couldn’t quit find his range for most of the round.

Round two looked like two dads going at it in a Denny’s parking lot. Roy’s grappling wasn’t working and he continued to eat shots. Roy still couldn’t take Cro Cop down to save his life.

In the final minutes of the third Roy finally gets the long awaited takedown. Roy even landed a shot that wobbled Cro Cop a bit.

Mirko Cro Cop via unanimous decision

Michael Page vs Paul Daley

These two men didn’t even attempt to touch gloves however, there were no fireworks and barely any punches or kicks thrown. Paul Daley refused to engage with Michael Page and his games.

Round two finally saw some action when Page landed a kick to the face. Daley then worked for a takedown and scored it after a couple of attempts. Daley kept Page grounded for the duration of the round until they stood up in a flurry in the final seconds of the round.

Daley scored yet another takedown in round 3, Daley got Page to the cage and began to unload some bombs. A really smart round by Daley and a dominant as well.

Another round, another takedown by Daley. As the two stand up, Page starts to land some shots. By the end, Page found himself on top of Daley. Daley must have gotten tired because he could he could only defend himself and not get up.

An immediate takedown in the final round by Daley but then he stands up looking for a shot, only to go back down into Page’s guard. Paul Daley ran out of gas again, almost falling victim to a rearnaked choke. Not the slugfest we thought we would see but that’s what you have to expect when two men are as dangerous and explosive as Venom and Semtex. A great show of respect for each other’s powers and abilities.

Paul Daley fought MVP the way Cody Garbrandt fought Dominick Cruz, it just didn’t pay off in the end. Douglas Lima said a few words about his next fight that is against MVP. MVP was very classy when he addressed his upcoming fight against Lima, saying it would be an honor to share the cage with so.eone he respects.

Michael Venom Page via unanimous decision

UFC has a long way to go to catch up with Bellator this year, they have had much better MMA in 2019 than their competitors. The heavyweight bouts were a disappointment and they ended with some absolutely atrocious decisions but when have we not seen that in UFC? A star was born in Valerie Loureda tonight, MVP moves on in the welterweight Grand Prix and we have a new number one contender for the heavyweight championship.
