The Elimination Chamber usually has a few surprises in-store for the fans; that always makes for an interesting show.
Raw Women’s Championship match: Ronda Rousey vs. Ruby Riott
Ruby Riott might have a chance, Asuka has to wrestle someone and she just may face Charlotte in some weird sort of way. Becky and Ronda can mainevent without a title up for grabs and that’s even better than what WWE hoped for. If Ruby gets the title she can face someone at Mania and add another match to the bloated show but at least everyone will get on the show. Ruby Riott ain’t winning and she will not suffer much for it so this match is simply to be enjoyed for what it is, another match for Rousey to put on her resume.
Women’s Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber match: Nia Jax & Tamina vs. The Riott Squad (Live Morgan and Sarah Logan) vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville vs. The IIconics (Peyton Royce & Billie Kay) vs. Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Naomi and Carmella
I think Sasha is too banged up for the Boss and Hug Connection to win those titles. IIconics need some relevance and giving them titles is the way to do it. Nia Jax and Tamina are also good candidates. Mandy Rose and Sonya DeVille could come out on top as well. If Sony and Mandy won then at least Mandy wouldn’t be challenging Asuka for the SDLive title anytime soon. This match has a lot of below average wrestlers in it, the lack of ring generals will make the match virtually unwatchable. If I’m wrong then great but I expect IIconics to win to give them a push to Wrestlemania where Sasha and Bayley will defeat them.
WWE World Championship Elimination Chamber match: Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Jeff Hardy
Sometimes injury is the best thing that can happen to anyone. This time Kofi Kingston is the one that benefited from the injury of fellow WWE superstar Mustafa Ali. Kofi has been substituted for Ali who is suffering from a number of injuries he has compiled recently, one being a concussion. Kofi went over one hour in the gauntlet match leasing up to the chamber, pinning the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy and Samoa Joe before tapping out to AJ Styles. Randy Orton went on to be the winner after an RKO out of nowhere to end SmackDown Live. Anyone but Styles can win this or will Styles win and setup a fued at WrestleMania for Orton to capture his 14th championship; that’s the only scenario I can actually see going forward besides Daniel Bryan retaining. What I would like to see and this is my be prediction, is Bray Wyatt returns with Luke Harper or Luke Harper returns but this time sides with Rowan and Daniel Bryan. Regardless of what happens I believe Daniel Bryan will retain.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship match: The Miz & Shane McMahon vs. The Usos
Recent events, Jimmy Uso being arrested for being super drunk, put this match and the Usos’ future in jeopardy. No real reason to think that the water will stay hot for too long though. Some are speculating that the Usos are trying to get fired from WWE so that they can sign AEW…yeah, the rumor mill is abuzz with tomfoolery. Nevertheless, the Miz and Shane McMahon will retain regardless of what happened over the weekend.
Intercontinental Championship match: Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush vs. Finn Balor
Balor is going to win the Intercontinental Championship either at WrestleMania or before then. It doesn’t matter which, this fued is good. This match will be ok but too gimmicky for something to really pay attention to. I think Balor wins in the shock of the night.
Cruiserweight Championship match: Buddy Murphy vs. Akira Tozawa
Buddy Murphy is the MVP of 205 Live, I don’t know who will be the one to dethrone the king of the cruiserweight division but it won’t be Tozawa. Tozawa will come close in a brilliant match that should be match of the night. Murphy retains and the next Challenger may beat him at WrestleMania.
Baron Corbin vs. Braun Strowman in a “No DQ” match
The rivalry that has been done to death is going to get it’s beast match yet. Although people are sour on Corbin and Strowman, I think that this match has potential to be PPV worthy. Braun Strowman’s flaws have been thoroughly exposed and there ain’t no going back. Baron Corbin will benefit greatly for having this fued with a top star like Braun and will get the rub when Corbin gets a push hopefully later this year against Seth. Corbin will get the win via cheating, continuing to fued with Braun until at least FastLane, then move on to Balor to find for the IC title after Mania.
