Roman Reigns [c] vs Jey Uso
I quit match
Jey says he quits to save Jimmy from being choked to death. Heel Roman is dominant and full of charisma. I may even get a replica Universal title now. Roman is the necessary evil heel we all need and he is embraced by his family and acknowledged by the head of the table by the end of the grueling match. I think its not entirely impossible that Jey has a title reign at some point, he has been nothing short of great this entire feud.
Elias vs Jeff Hardy
Not much of a comeback match for Elias, Jeff Hardy continues to be great but he needs a much better feud than Elias, I’d like to see him face the Hurt Business or Retribution.
Otis vs Miz
For the Money in the Bank briefcase
The match was standard stuff, cool story and all but the best part was when Tucker betrayed Otis and smacked him with the briefcase. Miz is now Mr. MITB. Otis attacks during a backstage interview. The possibilities seem limited with Miz holding the ultimate cash-in but who knows what they are going to do with that thing.
Bayley [c] vs Sasha
Not the matches they had in NXT but still classic. Bayley being the heel this time proves that WWE not doing longterm stories is a myth. The match was almost everything it was hyped up to be. Brutal spots between two of the best is all you need for a great match. Sasha wins the title but can she defend it?
Bobby Lashley [c] vs Slapjack
Retribution jumps Lashley, ending the match in disqualification. Slapjack wasn’t ready, he was off his game and Retribution were portrayed as lame. There is still a ton of story to be told with Retribution so I’ll continue to hold my breath.
Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre [c]
Helluva story told, a little long but one hell of a story. This wasn’t even the strongest match on the card but Orton has a way of getting you involved throughout the match. Randy Orton finally beat Drew and is now a 14 time champion, the most number of Reigns of any active wrestler.
Honorable mentions
I’m not really sure why the preshow exist but it seems like a bit of a waste at least half of the time.
Final take
Another strong PPV from WWE. Some great matches with great outcomes. Let’s see if they can capitalize on this momentum.
