Tonight is the first “In The Raw” in a while. Its been a very emotional week for the entire wrestling world as we all stood behind Joe Anoa’i as he relinquished the Universal title to continue his battle with Leukemia. Now that the top of the card of Raw is open, it’s time once again to review Raw, in the raw.

Baron Corbin did what he needed to do and got major heat right away by invoking the name of Roman Reigns in a professional manner as any hood heel would. Brock was quick to interrupt all of that; Braun follows, chaos ensues and it all ends with Strowman catching an F5.

I can tell you a guy that ain’t getting that Universal Championship anytime soon, Finn Balor. Once a favorite yo be thee guy now he is just an IC title guy at best.

I enjoy the job Lio Rush is doing unlike most of the fans. Bobby Lashley needs a mouth piece and Rush is perfect for the job. The match ent on oo long, especially to in a DQ from Lashley pushing Balor off the op rope. Lio Rush delivered the weakest slap ever and then had to pick Balor up and slap him again.

I would love to see a match between Lio Rush and Finn Balor and to make it even more sweet, I’d like to see it on 205 Live.

Three hours of programming to fill and they have almost every woman on the roster compete in one match…now I remember why I stopped watching.

The Riot Squad took another L along with Alicia Fox and Mickie James; what a way to take all of the momentum the Riot Squad had by having them lose on back to back nights. All so Bayley, Sasha, Natalya, Trish and Lita could get a victory. Trish and Lita are retired so they don’t need any momentum. Natty is Ronda’s trainer and she ain’t getting a push. I won’t even mention anything about the Sasha and Bayley and whatever it is they been doing.

The Drifter is a guy that can fill a ton of TV time; that’s exactly what his segments did and resulted in a match after he was attacked by Jinder Mahal; a match that the Drifter picked up the clean win in. The way Jinder works is perfect for a baby face Drifter. Let’s just hope this is just the beginning. Absolutely underated fued coming up with Jinder Mahal and Elias. The two men that I predicted would do big things.

Triple threat tag team action, AoP vs Gable and Roode vs Ascension. The Ascension were pinned by Roode and Gable but AoP beat both teams down after the match. Had WWE given them 20 minutes to actually have a good match people would actually get behind the tag team division but instead we get a quick match and a beat down. We see that so much, a quick match and then a beat down, would a long, interesting match hurt or would it help the crowd learn to like actual good wrestling? I’m not sure WWE knows anymore, always saving something for later instead of letting creative be creative.

Looks like Tomaso Ciampa has a fan; Dean Ambrose is doing pretty much the same storyline that DIY did when they broke up, right down to not saying a word during promo time.

Raw had a little extra footage of an exchange between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, setting up a Survivor Series match, a match where Lynch will be fed to Ronda as will everyone for like 2 years.

Ember Moon and Nia Jax went to to toe. Ember started off strong but was literally being stomped 2minutes into the match. Jax picked up the win off of the distraction from Tamina coming out to stare down Jax, then leave.

The Cruiserweights made their return to Raw with a match between Lucha House Party and the Revival. The crowd seemed to be kinda into the change of pace but the Revival were buried in the process.

Dolph really put over the world cup in his promo but it should be called King of the Ring; especially since they are having the tournament in a country that still has princes! The Zig man doesn’t disappoint, Apollo’s losses are mounting and that will lead to his eventual heel turn.

I can’t sit through another Undertaker promo or another DX reunion however, I did like the way they outsmarted the Undertaker and Kane, too bad Taker no sold the Super kick from Shawn Michaels. The last segment was a good way to sell Crown Jewel, the boos are less and less every time the name is said.

Raw didn’t do it for me, not a bad episode just not quit eventful enough; Crown Jewel has become too distracting. I am okay with WWE going through with the event, I wish that they had never gone into business with Saudi Arabia to begin with so such controversy could have been avoided but the show must go on.

Raw needs to continue to make changes and improve through the injuries and controversy; I’ll be here, giving it a chance.
