Jeff Hardy vs Cesaro
Cesaro punished Jeff Hardy but Hardy bounced back. It was a good kickoff match for the show, well paced, two credible wrestlers jockeying for position. Cesaro needs a push, he works too hard to not at least be Intercontinental Champion.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match
The New Day [c] vs. The Miz & John Morrison vs. The Forgotten Sons vs. Lucha House Party
I thought things were gonna be shaken up, I thought Forgotten Sons were coming in hot, poised to win the titles. After a decent match that seemed to have an odd pacing, New Day retain.
SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
Bayley [c] vs. Tamina
Let me say this first, Bryan Alvarez is an absolute coward for his takes. This was not one of the worst matches, it was fine. Bayley is a world class athlete and storyteller. Package that with Sasha Banks and you got classic wrestling stories waiting to be told. Tamina got a title shot and made the best of it, had it not been for Sasha she would be champion. Bart retained with help from Sasha but that’s part of the story being told.
WWE Championship Match
Drew McIntyre [c] vs. Seth Rollins
Great story, this didn’t need fans but the fans would have been in for a treat. Rollins came up short just like his new awful theme music. Drew retained and extended his hand to Seth and Seth shook it but I think the good sportsmanship ends there.
Universal Championship Match
Braun Strowman [c] vs. Bray Wyatt
Wyatt doesn’t get enough credit for actually being a good wrestler. The psychology and I mean literally psychology of the match was brilliant. I believe the rivalry will continue and it definitely should because they fit together well and Braun’s character development is really on display when he is in the ring with Bray. Although Braun retained, the mind games will continue from Bray Wyatt.
Women’s MITB
Shayna Baszler vs. Nia Jax vs. Asuka vs. Dana Brooke vs. Lacey Evans vs. Carmella
Winner: Asuka
Men’s MITB
Daniel Bryan vs. Aleister Black vs. Rey Mysterio vs. King Corbin vs. vs. Otis vs. AJ Styles
Winner: Otis
Both matches took place at the same time, making for a very interesting match to say the least. Asuka kicked it all off with a dive onto her competitors from the balcony. Other highlights include:
Baron Corbin committed murder and threw Rey Mysterio AND Aleister Black off of the roof
Dana Brooke grabbing the wrong briefcase
Cameos from , Vince, Steph and legends (yes, Stephanie McMahon is a legend)
Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles breaking I to Mr. McMahon’s office
“The Undertaker room” giving AJ flashbacks of his own death
This is a match you have to watch for yourself, it was ridiculous to a point that it was just awesome.
Honorable mentions
R Truth vs Bobby Lashley made Truth realize that he needs the 24/7 Championship back.
Final take
The show can in at UNDER 2 hours and 30 minutes, that’s gotta be a first in history. The show was well put together. Sure not every single thing was perfect but when it flows as well as it did and it’s short and sweet, complaints are unnecessary. Another homerun for WWE.
