Imperium [c] vs Breezango

Breezango coming out as Imperium is absolutely hilarious. The remixed Imperium theme was great too. Imperium walk out with their titles but only because of Indus Sher and Lorcan and Burch. The tag team division is heating up and who knows who’s gonna walk out with the titles at the next Takeover. I believe Lorcan and Burch will eventually end up with the titles this year.

Damian Priest vs Killian Dain

I thought that Priest would lose via distraction or he would win via disqualification but he won clean which is a strong move in the right direction for a babyface. I’m not sure who they are going to line up in front of Damian Priest.

Later, Damian Priest’s tires are flattened by Cameron Grimes. The match will be good but I’m least interested in this feud at the moment.

Aliyah vs Xia Li

Aliyah wins on XIa Li’s NXT anniversary, typical. I understand that They Aliyah and Robert Stone are going to be a thing but how about being a thing after Xia Li wins on her NXT anniversary? Aliyah has to get some actual clean and quality wins to be taken seriously and she needs them soon.

Everybody wants to rule the world

Adam Cole calls out Karrion Kross and Keith Lee while sounding like a babyface in the process. The limitless one makes his intentions known and so does Johnny Gargano. Not to be outdone Balor joins the conversation. So before we can figure out who Adam Cole is facing next we need to have a triple threat match for the North American Championship; sounds good to me!

Kayden Carter vs Dakota Kai

Kayden Carter is accompanied by Kacy Catanzaro which is a good way to get more women into the spotlight; I like the pairing. Raquel Gonzalez wore a beautiful Harlem Heat outfit while keeping an eye on things from ringside. Dakota Kai wins with the distraction finish, getting closer to facing Io for the title.

Bronson Reed squash

I like the promo after the squash. Reed calls out Karrion Kross, the newest kid on the block and undoubtedly the toughest. A great way to build Reed and Kross up as two brutal badasses. Reed is a future North American Champion for sure.

Legado del Fantasma

I like this faction, they should do big things, not just in the cruiserweight division bit throughout the company if used properly. Drake Maverick attacks head on after hearing Santos Escobar flaunt his legacy in front of the NXT Universe. Escobar sent Maverick straight to the hospital on a stretcher in no time.

Sasha [c] & Bayley [c] vs Tegan Knox & Shotzi Blackheart

Damn good match, Sasha and Bayley looked they were loving every minute of being back on NXT programming. Everyone looked great, this is the way you book a damn match! The champs looked strong and so did the challengers. after the match, the genius of the sky attacked the tag champs, defending her home turf.

3. Roddy talks to a psychologist about Dexter Lumis. The psychologist did a horrible job, his voice was over the top. The inkblot test was funny.

Final take

I loved the show. The multi man matches that are being set up always payoff well at Takeovers. Everyone has something to do right now, the roster is being utilized very well.
