The announcement
Keith Lee relinquishes the North American Championship. Regal announced a series of triple threat matches will determine who will face each other for the vacant title at Takeover 30.
Lumis vs Dain
These two tore each other apart, Lumis goes over strong and clean. Big win for Lumis, propelling him into opportunities in the future, such as his triple threat match with Balor and Thatcher next week.
Ever-Rise
Hard to take Ever-Rise seriously, I think they are supposed to be the Young Bucks but I’m not sure. Breezango paid homage to the Mounty with their entrance, mocking their opponents. Short match for Breezango, a virtual squash. A great idea to keep them strong as the tag division finds its way back to prominence.
Shotzi vs Aliyah
This is how you build a midcard in your women’s division. Shotzi gets the win in a long match but her victory is short lived when she is booted out of her tank by Mercedes Martinez. The Robert Stone brand is on the rise as Stone signs Martinez.
Reed vs Gargano vs Strong
Roddy wanted to get the Undisputed Era back on track but Bronson Reed had other plans. In an upset victory, Reed beats two former North American Champions to move on to challenge 4 other men in a ladder match at Takeover 30.
Lorcan vs Thatcher 2
Not much more to say other than, you have to watch this to appreciate it.
Dijak vs Kross
There was no answer for the offense Dijak was throwing at Kross until an unfortunate reversal into the steel steps turned things around for Kross. Karrion Kross put a vicious beatdown on Dijak right in front of Keith Lee.
Honorable mentions
Swerve Scott vignette.
Final take
This show doesn’t get enough credit for putting on something to watch every week. There is no more consistent show than NXT.
