Shotzi Blackheart vs Candice LeRae
It’s a good thing when your women’s division is good enough to be placed anywhere on the card. This match wasn’t great however. Candice wins via distraction from Hartwell and I’m really disappointed I didn’t really like much of the match.
GWV vs Ever-Rise
You know damn well Grizzled Young Veterans were going to win this match. I would have preferred Ever-Rise get a win against a decent team then lose to GWV to build more of a story. Ever-Rise needs to go full Young Bucks and embrace who they are.
Gargano [c] vs Lumis
Cool segment to earlier in the show; Lumis drew a few pictures especially for Gargano and The Way
Johnny putting his hand over the word nuts was attention to detail that most don’t even know to account for in other companies. Thez press, kip up really nice offense from Lumis, he is like a more athletic Kane. In control the entire match then Lumis loses via distraction, Kushida helps Lumis and sets his eyes on the prize, the North American Championship.
Atlas & Swerve vs MSK
A big signing for NXT, MSK fits right on Dynamite but they came to the house that HHH built to make some noise in the Cup and they have made a lot of it in just their debut match. Atlas and Swerve get into a heated altercation backstage and Reed steps in to stop Swerve, we now know where the next beef will start and who it will be with.
Xia Li is on fire
The reimagining of Xia has been great, commentary couldn’t even keep up.
Xia’s master demanded more and Xia put in some work on her jobbers opponent. The music is cool, it’s fun, she’s exciting. Now all we need to see is how well Boa has come along.
Breezango vs Undisputed Era
Expected nothing less than the best and I was all in. So much so that I got swerved along with everyone else. I forgot Pete Dunne and his boys had beef. Still surprised Undisputed Era managed to win though but at what cost? This has me hooked, it’s one of the best things going on in WWE right now.
Honorable mentions
Fight Pit next week.
Balor promo: Pete Dunne interrupts right on time, when the wolves attack UE saves Balor.
Women’s Dusty Cup promos from Shotzi, Ember Moon, Carter and Catanzaro.
Final take
The Men’s Dusty Tournament never disappoints and the action is as good as it ever was. Lots of interesting developments during the show that are going to lead to some phenomenal matches. Cohesive storytelling that isn’t in business for itself just to have a cult following. Yea, I said it.
