Ciampa & Thatcher vs Lorcan[c] & Burch[c]
The champs retain. The match was cool, nothing really stood out but it was good filler I suppose. Lorcan and Burch deserve the titles but they haven’t done a single thing with them.
Ember Moon vs Aliyah
Jessi Kamea looking good in the corner, the Robert Stone Brand. Moon deserves better, Aliyah hasn’t improved enough to be competitive with Ember. Perhaps Zoe Stark is someone that can step up and have some fun matches with people like Moon and Storm.
Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez vs Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler[c]
You knew the titles weren’t changing hands when the match wasn’t maineventing the show. What a match?! Nia Jax even looked good, must be the magic of NXT. Adam Pearce sends his own ref out, Regal won’t be a fan of that; good ole controversy. I’m sure we’re gonna see Gonzalez and Kai on Raw very soon, a very good idea. Let Kai and Gonzalez make quick work of Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke to prove they belong in the tag title picture.
Who’s game is it?
Looks like LA Knight isn’t looking for friends, he’s going to make his own way in WWE. The promo was good, let’s see who he feuds with first and how quickly he is pushed, he’s ready for the main roster. Let’s hope the rosters make some trades and Knight ends up on Raw where he could do some great things with the Miz and Morrison. Who knows, maybe James Storm will join the company with Knight. Pat McAfee needs to beef with LA Knight, that’s a rivalry that could make NXT must see TV.
Bronson Reed vs Cameron Grimes
Reed loses when LA Knight interferes. I guess we have our first feud for LA Knight. He wants to fight the big boys, real men; I like it! Grimes needs wins, he’s been away a while.
Strong vs Balor[c]
The two had an altercation earlier that led to a scuffle that led to this match.
Strong showed Balor just how badass he can be. Balor wins, waiting for him at the entrance ramp is Adam Cole.
Honorable mentions
Lame family therapy sketch from The Way.
Cameron Grimes is in hot water with Regal.
Swerve in the studio dropping promos, much better promos than when he was a babyface.
Legado Del Fantasma beat up Ever-Rise and Breezango, sending a message to the locker room.
Final take
Next week Finn Balor puts his title on the line, it’s all just a backdrop for the story so I’m not taking it seriously. Io vs Toni Storm is also gonna have some sort of false finish. The build of this show was great and next week is going to be even better. Last week felt like it was missing something, this week wasn’t missing a damn thing.
