Zoe Stark & Io[c] vs Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai

Good way to start off the show, put a champ out there on display with some fresh talent. Stark got a lot of offense in, while Io was destroyed after the match, sounds like great booking to me.

LA Knight vs Brunson Reed

Better get that win back and more at Takeover. Knight takes his first loss and it’s to a top midcard guy but I think it’s too soon for a loss to anyone. I like the way Knight works with a big guy, haven’t seen that in a while. I’m gonna enjoy Drake in NXT.

Lorcan vs Kross

Glad Kross didn’t do that damn suplex a lot, it’s too dangerous. The match was good for Kross, bad for Lorcan. Should have had a lot more Scarlett involved.

Walter[c] vs Drake Maverick

Killian Dain is missing and Maverick wants answers. Too bad Walter wasn’t talking. Maverick was squashed. Ciampa wanted some answers as well but all Walter was handing out was ass whoopings. Ciampa challenges Walter for his title at Takeover and we have ourselves a FEUD!

The story is that Thatcher and Dain have been targeted by Imperium for recruitment, let’s hope they both have turned to the darkside.

Mercedes Martinez & Aliyah vs Moon[c] & Blackheart[c]

Jessi Kamea is injured so that means the Robert Stone Brand had to turn to an old friend to make ends meet. Mercedes Martinez didn’t make a difference and the champs kept their titles, which we knew they would. A backstage segment with The Way is what is really interesting about this tag division. India Hartwell shouldn’t be anywhere near any kind of title in a major company right now.

Jordan Devlin[c] vs Kushida

Helluva match, I knew we wouldn’t get a clean finish but for a minute I thought we MIGHT get one. It really was a great final match to put on this show, two unbelievably good talents. Devlin has taken it to another level, i wasn’t sure about him years ago but he has greatly improved since then. Legado got involved and cost Kushida the match. HBK comes out and just puts a ladder into the ring between the two champs without saying a single word.

End of an era

Cole passes by HBK, I hope that is a sign of things to come, HBK has already come out of retirement for a big payday, why not come out for a big match.

Kyle and Adam have really got something with this feud, it needs to morph into something even greater after their match at Takeover. They were both going for promo of the year. The two came face to face but security kept them from hurting each other, excellent stuff.

Honorable mentions

  1. Undisputed Era continue to sort things out among its former members

  2. Tag titles vacated

  3. Who will face Gargano

Final take

Perfect ending but the show felt a little all over the place to me. Undisputed Era really did hold NXT together, when they are around there is a clear focus. Takeover is going to be NUTS! cant wait.
