6 man street fight
Legado del Fantasma vs Breezango [c] & Swerve Scott
A tough, physical match for everyone involved.
Imperium interferes out of nowhere, didn’t see that coming. I also didn’t see a forklift being used either. I thought the outcome would be a lot different as well however, Swerve Scott pins the champ for the second time in his NXT career.
Candice LeRae vs Kacy Catanzaro
Jim Cornette is somewhere spinning over in his grave. Two of the smallest women in wrestling put on a good match. I liked the match but I still need to see much much more from both wrestlers. I am behind a push for both of them though. LeRae promos after the win but it was a load of crap that no one believed.
Reed vs Thatcher
Reed has a phenomenal new entrance video that really fits him, gotta push him to the moon now. Thatcher was physical as always, he still struggled to bring Bronson Reed down. Thatcher picks up the win after the assist from Austin Theory who has certainly drawn the ire of Reed.
We are Ironmen
Balor vs Gargano vs Cole vs Ciampa
There was certainly enough time for everyone to get their spots in, more than once. The story told was not one that can be told by just anyone. These guys have all held gold and have a thirst to hold it again. Adam Cole went back to his Bullet Club roots, trying to entice Balor to team with him with a gesture but Balor wasn’t having it. The finish was great, each man holding one fall a piece until the last minute where Cole and Balor got a fall and ended the match in a tie. Next week they go one on one to crown the new NXT Champion.
Honorable mentions
Tegan talks Candice LeRae.
Mercedes and Ripley promo.
Final take
Living up to the hype isn’t easy when you’re NXT and although I think the main event fell a little short, you have to under the ridiculously high bar they’ve already set. The rest of the show was great and next week has some killer matches on the card. I’m pretty sure NXT is moving to Wednesdays.
