KO vs Angel Garza

Andrade had words for Garza backstage before his match. The words didn’t do much because Garza lost. Zelina was fed up but more importantly, this could be the beginning of a split between the faction.

When Dominicks attack

Rey Mysterio keeps Seth distracted while his son comes from out of nowhere to put hands on Seth. Dominick was surrounded by Seth’s disciples but managed to escape through the crowd. It looks like we will get some sort of match with Dominick and the church of Rollins.

Natty & Liv Morgan vs IIconics

Byron said that the IIconics music makes him angry, that’s good writing to have him be sondetailed about his disdain about how certain heels operate and how much they irritate him. The IIconics win and backstage Natalya blames Liv, verbally accosting her. Later Lana and Natalya share a moment; Natalya is turning and teaming with LANA?!

Birthday beatdown

Well it’s Bayleys birthday so her and Sasha are ready to celebrate in style. The IIconics have a different idea in mind and confront the tag champs in their second appearance of the night. IIconics showed up in all black, attacking the champs, showing a new serious edge they previously lacked.

A fighting champion

Backstage, MVP extends an offer to manage Apollo, MVP then warned Apollo that holding on to the United States Championship would prove futile. The new music is working wonders for Apollo. Apollo Crews outsmarts Benjamin. Crews uses sneaky tactic to beat Shelton, planting the seeds of a turn. Apollo still needs to turn heel and this is the way to do it. Great use of Benjamin as well. MVP will end up recruiting Crews, it’s only a matter of time. Shaking down champions is what MVP has gotten good at, it’s a solid roll for him.

Asuka [c] vs Nia Jax

Nia was completely blowing spots earlier, didn’t matter because Asuka is so great that the match was still good. The ref gave Nia a quick count after being shoved, she could have been disqualified so the fast count was merciful. Of course the finish was weird because we need to extend the feud to Extreme Rules.

R Truth [c] & Drew McIntyre [c] vs Bobby Lashley & MVP

Jerry chants were great when Lashley told Lana he wanted a divorce earlier in the show. Lana needs to move on and the story played out as expected.

Some may not like comedy being associated with a the WWE Champion but I’m ok with it, especially a certified top level comedic act like R Truth. It was some funny stuff going on and some very serious situations, Truth was about to be jumped by Lashley and MVP which is something I can identify with being from where I’m from so that added quite a bit of realism to it. Luckily, Drew retained although the odds were stacked against him.

Legend killer

Christian comes to Edge’s defense at the top of the show so the Viper lures Christian into a trap by challenging him to an unsanctioned match.

Randy Orton’s storytelling is uncanny right now, and has been throughout his career actually. Ric Flair gave Christian some great advice, Christian didn’t listen and paid the price. It was beautiful, the dirtiest player in the game gave Christian a low blow and it all ended mercifully with a punt.

Honorable mentions

  1. Charlotte and Ric backstage.

  2. Viking Profits take on ninjas again.

  3. Big Show returns to stop the big black ninja.

Final take

If Prichard was involved then I don’t see any issues going forward. The show was good, told great and complete stories, it also had a good flow to it due to the storytelling.
