It’s championship Monday!

Monday Night Raw has its first surprise of the Prichard Era and it is the addition of Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler said he was traded for AJ Styles, then proceeded to make demands of the WWE Champion. It seems that Dolph is owed for managing Drew McIntyre when he was called up to Raw and it’s time Drew paid what he owes, a title shot.

Jax’d up

R Truth just interrupted the hell out of Nia Jax for absolutely no reason. The use of R Truth is always great, he has not done anything that has been bad his entire tenure in the company.

Nia has a big personality and I like the use of it on the mic. Nia’s time with Alexa Bliss was the best use of Jax. Tonight Nia traded barbs with Charlotte before coming to blows. Nia destroys Charlotte’s arm before her match with Asuka setting Charlotte up for her first defeat against the Empress of Tomorrow.

IIconics vs Sasha [c] & Bayley [c] [c]

I think the match came too soon, the IIconics weren’t going to win, they were not a real threat. I don’t know what the IIconics do now but it probably won’t be noteworthy. I’d like to see the IIconics split for a while maybe, their act quickly becomes stale and I’m not sure what needs to be done about it.

Sasha teased a split from Bayley but swerved us at the last minute and challenged Asuka at Extreme Rules. The two proceeded to beat Asuka down when Asuka came out, putting the Bank Statement on her to make a statement.

Street Profits [c] vs Viking Raiders

The friendship between the Profits and Vikings is something that has helped carry the show with it’s strong and charismatic foundation. I’m glad both teams put on a relatively short match where the Street Profits retained clean. The story even moved forward after the match. Andrade and Garza attacked the champs with the Viking Raiders saving the day later.

Liv Morgan vs Natalya

Seems as if Natalya’s new edge is paying off already with a victory over the plucky Liv Morgan. Liv looked fine but I wish it looked more competitive on her side. There is far more to the story than what is being told on screen which makes it even better when it all does playout on screen and leads to a big rematch between Liv and Natalya.

Apollo [c] vs Benjamin

The VIP Lounge is not just a talk show but a great place to set people up. A surprise attack puts Apollo behind the 8 ball but he still managed to escape with his title in hand. MVP keeps trying to recruit Crews but Crews wants to do things the hard way I guess, sooner or later, MVP will get what he wants from Apollo. Right now, I don’t if that’s the United States Championship or Apollo’s services.

Day of reckoning?

Seth Rollins confronts Rey Mysterio and his son but he didn’t come alone, luckily neither did Dominick and Rey. Aleister Black and Humberto save Dominick before Seth took out his eye the way he did Rey Mysterio.

Honorable mentions

  1. Someone in the crowd always goes “Wooooow” and it’s hilarious.

  2. Asuka finally beats Charlotte.

  3. Edge promises a return of the Rated R Superstar.

  4. Tozawa reclaims the 24/7 Championship

Final take

Another solid show in the books for the Prichard Era. A far more episodic feel to WWE main roster products
