Great video package of Orton and Flair starts the show, setting the tone for the overall seriousness of everything that’s taken place.
Drew addresses Orton while Retribution tears things up backstage. After the commercial break, Seth confronts Drew in front of the boys
Cedrick and Ricochet have words with Seth and warn him that They and his son Domino are at RAW. Great segment really really good for everyone involved, even those that didn’t get to speak. Buddy Murphy looked like a threat and Drew looked like a badass while the locker room seemed ready to take on the threat of Retribution.
Garza vs Ivar
The match was all just a way to get to Samoa Joe showing security footage of Zelina Vega poisoning Ford. It was a good match though. I don’t like wrestlers fighting over women because it sends a silly message but this wasn’t that bad and made a little more sense than those things usually do. The Street Profits’ feud with Zelina and her faction has gone on forever and it needs to end this weekend forever.
Natalya & Mickie James
Completely forgot about this glad they went in with some fire, too bad it was just a backdrop for a Seth Rollins segment. These two deserve better and maybe that’s what they’ll get at a later date.
The Greatest of all time
Shayna & Asuka vs Sasha [2Xc] & Bayley [2xc]
These are the greatest wrestlers in the company right now. Three of the greatest NXT champions and a woman who has won the Raw title more than anyone. They could have went an hour and they wouldn’t have scratched the surface of what they are capable of.
Shafir and Duke backstage with Baszler was a great surprise.
Raw underground
Dolph vs Erik
Dolph wins with a rear naked choke and a thumb to the eye. A really cool fight, I was into it, lots of love on Twitter for this segment as well. Dolph legit has skill.
Arturo vs Moss
Shafir’s debut
The amount of legit fighters is pretty high, not just wrestlers with zero background in other combat sports. A different feel to this segment, I like where this is going.
Nia comes through and teases a fight in the Underground then runs away.
Elimination tag
MVP tries to recruit Cedrick Alexander, every time he tries it looks as if he’s getting through to him. The hurt business is the best thing going on RAW right now and I can’t wait to see who turns on who at SummerSlam because one of our heroes is going rogue for sure.
Show stopper
Well Shawn Michaels walked out there and got RKO’d, then had his head kicked off. Drew was late to the party AGAIN. I think Drew is dropping the title because honestly there is no one to challenge him afterwards.
Honorable mentions
Long segments that blended perfectly.
Overlapping segments made the chaos and panic that Retribution had started has spread throughout everyone on the program.
Alexander vs Tozawa for the 24/7 title, Alexander wins clean Benjamin wins it right back.
Dominik and Try Mysterio get their revenge on Seth and Buddy.
Montez Ford vs Andrade.
Ruby Riott vs Peyton Royce.
Final take
Man they threw a lot of us on this episode but I was ready for it, barely. I’m just ready for Summer Slam so we can pay all off these things off and get to some new feuds.
