Drew down
The champ got a little cocky and paid for it with his head.
Bayley [2xc] vs Shayna Baszler
The Nia segment before the match really set things up for the night. Jax interfered in the match and started a fight with Shayna but Bayley and Sasha drew their ire and now Nia and Shayna are coming together to take the tag titles away from the Golden Role models. A great use of Jax and Shayna.
KO Show
Aleister Black joins Owens on the KO Show and KOs KO. Aleister seemed really irritated to be asked about how he was humiliated by Seth and Buddy. Owens had to pay for his foolish questions. It’s about time Black turned, now all he needs is his wife by his side.
24/7
Cedrick Alexander [c] vs Shelton Benjamin vs R Truth vs Tozawa
Tozawa wins a short and chaotic match. I wanted to see a much longer match because this is a good group of guys who can go at it, maybe at Payback we can get this match again.
Garza vs Ford [c]
I’m all for comedy but Andrade doesn’t need to be involved. Ivar knows the game, Garza’s chick chose him so he came up while Garza lost another match. The Street Profits are credible at least.
Zelina & IIconics vs Riott Squad & Belair
Bianca wins a short but cool little match. Zelina was the one to take the pinfall, she needs to beat someone at some point, someone better figure out who. IIconics need more of a role, they should be written into sitcom characters and occasionally have matches. Give them their own talk show and take Kevin Owens’ show away.
Arm wrasslin
MVP talks to Cedrick Alexander again this time calling out Ricochet. Lashley does some excellent heel work and loses the arm wrestling match by being overconfident and outsmarted.
Raw Underground
Lashley and the hurt business invade because Lashley needs to blow off some steam. When RAW comes back from break, we see Shane and the ref clearly ignoring tapouts as Lashley ragdolls a fighter. Lashley took out Dolph then Cedrick Alexander, theeen he took out Ivar. The Viking Raiders got flattened, along with whoever else got in the way of the Hurt Business.
Orton vs Keith Lee
Keith Lee challenged Orton in a promo earlier. Later that night the two had a really cool match where Keith Lee had all the confidence in the world but Drew McIntyre wanted his revenge and got his revenge, robbing Orton of a victory but even revenge would come at a steep price.
Sasha [c] vs Asuka [c]
Lumberjack match
Cool use of the other women on the show. Another short match but still great, the lumberjacks made it interesting and fun.
Shayna made sure Bayley couldn’t interfere and Asuka retained her RAW Women’s Championship.
Rey & Dominik vs Seth & Buddy
Dominik looked even better in his second match on his second straight night of wrestling. Murphy, Seth, and Rey really took care of Dominik and gave him some special moments in the match. Retribution made sure that there were no winners as Rollins and Murphy slithered away.
Honorable mentions
Drew promo gloats about win over Orton.
Orton punts Drew 3 times.
Lana and Natalya get attacked by Mickie James for mocking her.
Final take
Damn this RAW was good but the complainers will be calling into shows rambling on about whatever minor things they can pick at to sound smart and well informed about absolutely nothing. RAW is in good hands and has some cool stuff in the works for Payback.
