United States Championship match

Apollo [c] vs MVP

Apollo wins with brute strength against the crafty veteran MVP. MVP demands his rematch at SummerSlam soon after Apollo gloats about his win and how MVP paid for his new United States Championship.

Overexposed

I’m so glad the women are shining right now, that doesn’t mean we can’t get sick of them.

So glad Shayna interrupted Sasha and Bayley but I’m not sure I see her winning the Raw title, she would be much better on SmackDown.

The KO Show

Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan talk about their troubled relationship and past. The IIconics were salty that they weren’t guests on the show. Peyton Royce was caught corpsing on live television when Owens was slapped, wonder how that’s gonna go over with the boss man. Owens is always setting up matches on his show. Liv and Ruby get the W and inflict some post match damage.

Face to face

McIntyre retells the story of how he got to where he is now, juxtaposing it with the “free ride” Orton has gotten. Orton defends himself from the stage and the two drop some pretty damn good promos.

The hurt business is hurting

R Truth vs Tozawa vs Shelton Benjamin [c]

MVP and Lashley take care of the ninja problem but Benjamin loses the title to Tozawa who hit the Senton from the top rope on R Truth.

Shayna vs Sasha [c] [c]

As I’m watching it, I feel like this segment was disjointed. Shayna starts off hot, Sasha briefly gains control, Shayna gets it back, only for Asuka to end it all in a DQ by attacking Bayley, I don’t know how that happened. Nice twist at the end of everything, Sasha throws Bayley into a match with Asuka as a stepping stone. Shayna vows to take the title from Asuka.

Drank in my cup

Garza vs Dawkins & Montez vs Andrade

Garza wins after losing the match most of the time. Dawkins looked good though, I definitely wanted to see more, at some point Dawkins will be solo so I wanted to see what he looks like now as a singles act.

Montez was poisoned so his match was a little awkward. Which is a shame because I wanted to see him and Andrade in a 20 minute match.

Who was Zelina cosplaying as and will she have a match against Bianca Belair after their confrontation?

Let the church say amen… amen

Murphy contemplates his actions while Rollins assures him that he did the right thing to do. Seth calls out one announcer only to be confronted by another.

How did this end with Samoa Joe wrestling Murphy?! Well it actually didn’t, it ended with Dominick Mysterio jumping Rollins and Murphy showing off his moves for the first time. Seth Rollins then accepts Dominick’s request for a match at SummerSlam.

RAW Underground

Twitter hated before they even saw it but it’s new and refreshing. I think they may have something here. Think Fight Club with Pride rules. The hurt business picks up and finds its way to the underground.

Honorable mentions

  1. Demi Burnett from the bachelor makes an appearance backstage.

  2. The lights flickered and an ANTIFA angle was shot outside of the performance.

  3. A new faction was teased.

  4. Nia Jax gets suspended.

  5. KO challenges Orton.

Final take

Don’t know what Prichard was told but his job is probably on the line. Tons of overbooking. There was an entirely different show going on within a show. This show threw a lot at us and it was all over the place. The 3 hours flew by at least, not sure how good the show was though. Absolutely a base hit and a run scored but I’m pretty sure someone got out too.
