Edge/Orton
The greatest lie that WWE tried to push on us. I love these two wrestlers and I think they are great but to say that they are going to have the greatest wrestling match ever is a joke. If you are WWE what else are you going to promote it as though? They have to promote their stuff and this is how they are doing it, we’ll get over it eventually.
Charlotte [c] vs Ruby Riott
Ruby Riott was summoned by the queen. Charlotte shows she has a hard time understanding how to be a ring general because she struggled mightily with Ruby at times. That said, the match was decent, it could have been a lot better if they had a real game plan.
The Empress impresses
I saw Kairi and immediately knew she was turning on Asuka. Same is a heel, she should seize any opportunity she has. Unfortunately I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about and Nia Jax interrupted to make me look foolish. Asuka takes out Nia immediately after Nia talks crap. Nia Jax is actually a very smart opponent for Asuka, Asuka can drag Nia to a good match. Nia stalked Asuka and Kairi backstage, leading to an attack on Sane when she was separated from Asuka.
IIconics vs Nikki Cross [c] & Alexa Bliss [c]
Can we please stop the right hands of Alexa Bliss from being a thing? She is not Baron Corbin, it’s just an excuse to pad her offense. Also can we please not break up the IIconics? Billie Kay slapped Peyton Royce after Royce got them disqualified
Submission match
This could have and should have mainevented last week’s Raw. Too short for this show, there was so much more that could have been done with this. Instead we get Natalya having a fit and destroying the set. Let’s just see where this goes before we judge her character any further.
Kevin Owens & Apollo vs “The Vegabonds”
Kevin Owens returns to introduce Apollo Crews so that Crews could get revenge on Andrade. Austin Theory made a mistake that led to his team losing and he was jumped out of the Vegabonds. Crews challenged Andrade next week for the United States Championship backstage after Zelena interrupted Crews’ interview.
Revelations
Seth feels no remorse for what he did to Rey Mysterio, instead, Seth claims that it was a blessing. Humberto Carrillo comes out and faces Seth for his actions against Rey but runs into Murphy. Murphy wins an impromptu match against Carrillo with a little distraction from Rollins. Murphy starts the post match beatdown but is interrupted by Aleister Black who saves the day. Murphy’s ring gear was exceptional as always.
Aleister Black vs Murphy
Black was anxious to get his hands on Murphy and he beat the hell out of him but “The Black Hand of Raw” recruited the recently fallen Theory to jump Black during the match, resulting in a disqualification. Aleister Black is great in this roll and being a loner makes the numbers game a big problem for him, keeping him in perfect position as a top guy but not in title contention just yet.
Drew McIntyre [c] vs Baron Corbin
This is why Corbin is where he is. Corbin is a top heel in the company because he just knows exactly what he’s doing and he can have good matches with just about anyone. Bobby Lashley and MVP watched from the top of the ramp and challenged Drew to defend his title against a Bobby Lashley he is all too familiar with.
Honorable mentions
Liv Morgan tells us a little bit about herself in a vignette.
Lashley beats R Truth.
Axe throwing challenge with Street Profits and Viking Raiders.
Final take
Another good show from the Flagship of WWE. Things didn’t start off great but the last hour was very interesting, lots of big feuds set up there. The main event picture looks good and the midcard is as solid as ever.
