Same old same
They did this with Reigns and Goldberg last year. I wasn’t a fan of the segment, Goldberg wasn’t bad in it but I feel like Miz and Morrison looked like midcard idiots and Drew McIntyre is above all of that. Still, it was a well done segment.
The ole switcheroo
Shayna Baszler vs Charlotte didn’t last long, Nia Jax jumped Charlotte, then Mandy and Dana came out to help.

Dana and mandy were not ready when Nia was
Imagine Nia Jax being a better wrestler than you, imagine Jac waiting on you to get your timing down and being the ring general of any match. Mandy Rose just isn’t ready, I don’t care how much time you give her or how many chances, just don’t do it on network television anymore. ANOTHER loss for Mandy and Dana. Evans just isn’t important no matter what she’s doing, they need to fix that.
Neck of the Woods
It is finally revealed that Mustafa Ali is gunning for Kofi Kingston because he stole his opportunity. Ali is right, Kofi stole it all and now Woods has to pay for it. Slapjack vs Xavier Woods was fine but the beatdown and the message afterward was the most important part.
R Truth vs AJ Styles
A unique way to use Styles and I like it. Truth wanted to be in the Rumble and Styles stopped him because Styles is serious about being the gatekeeper for the championship he feels he will capture at Wrestlemania after winning the Royal Rumble.
The Hurt Gauntlet
Resident stoner Matt Riddle had to go through the Hurt business in order to get to the CEO, Bobby Lashley. With Riddle’s big win he now gets a shot not only at Lashley but at the United States Championship that he has held for quite some time. Riddle would have plenty of challengers, there is also a very real option of putting Riddle in multi man matches for the United States title if he wins it.
2 on 1
Sheamus vs Miz & Morrison
Morrison can carry anyone in any type of match so when he is in a match with another badass like himself, he is on another level. Sheamus lost but everyone was elevated with that match.
It’s my time?
Edge’s promo was phenomenal as usual. The big surprise was that he was entering the Royal Rumble. Edge says its time he regained the title he never lost. I’m ready for one hell of an effort from Edge, not sure he’ll win but I’ll be rooting for him, depending on who keeps their title.
Asuka[c] vs Alexa Bliss
Earlier, Alexa was in her playground
Nobody does weird like Alexa Bliss (since the Fiend is dead). The match went on as usual, Asuka was more prepared, controlling most of the match when Alexa changed. The change from Alexa is interesting to say the least. I’m still not sure where I stand with it, this is the second time we’ve seen this transformation so there is certainly more to come. Oh….and Randy Orton RKO’d Bliss out of nowhere.
Honorable mentions
Charlotte and Lacey is already stale and has no heat at all.
Final take
A solid show, heard the numbers were up quite a bit on YouTube as well. Look, the show isn’t perfect but it’s good, it’s been good for like 2 years now. Get used to it and stop lying.
