Miz TV

Legends night opens with Mr. Money in the Bank.

New Day are the first guests of the new year. I don’t know why they didn’t have an interview with a legend. New Day highjack Miz TV in a very funny segment, I hope Miz gets a raise because he has been carrying multiple segments for years, thus carrying shows. Teddy Long hilariously makes a match with the Undertaker and Adam Pearce tells him that the Undertaker is retired then Teddy makes a match between the two teams in the ring.

New Day vs Miz & Morrison

A match with some athletic veterans, multi-time champs, sign me up. Morrison and Kofi need to have a match every week because they are still well in their primes. The Miz needs to start impressing me, it’s not too late to get better in the ring, John Cena taught us that.

AJ Styles vs Elias

Styles wins and Omos kicks the guitar out of Rykers hand and it was badass. The match was really good again and we need to see Elias move onto another legend and start a feud so we can see some good matches. I just wanna keep seeing Elias do well because it’s great for business.

Charlotte [c] & Asuka [2xC] vs Lacey Evans & Peyton Royce

Ric Flair sold out Charlotte for some trim? Sure looks that way. Charlotte is pinned by Royce in a twisted turn of events. Ric Flair grabbed Charlotte’s leg after Lacey started talking to him. I’m down for this angle sounds like a love affair and it’ll be damn good if the Nature Boy is involved. Also, we get to see Lacey as Charlotte. Asuka is nice cold, she’s just the stooge of Flair now, she needs to drop that title at the Royal Rumble.

Riddle vs Bobby Lashley [c]

Not sure if I love the loss for Bobby but I do like that the shenanigans made plenty of sense. Riddle and Lashley are gonna clash much worse than this over that pretty title Lashley holds.

Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy

Orton couldn’t do it? I’m disappointed Orton didnt go through with murder but hey, there’s always next time…and there will be a next time. The match got crazy and Orton got crazy. Randy Orton went over clean, now what’s next for the Viper? Orton is going to lose steam really quickly if something doesn’t happen soon.

Hurt Business [c] vs Lucha House Party

Say what you want but Lucha House Party have been booked decently over their run they are never too far away from action, they stay in title contention. The Hurt Business don’t really need wins, they need a proper story to back them up.

Drew McIntyre [c] vs Keith Lee

I wanted to see something a little different from the match itself but it was fine. The legends had front row seats on the stage and the main event actually felt like a really big deal, like Keith might actually get the job done.

Honorable mentions

  1. Angel Garza beat R Truth for his 24/7 title and runs into legends

  2. Orton goes legend hunting and plays mind games.

Final take

Legends night wasn’t too bad but it was not something I’d think about doing next year. This Raw was good but it needed more seasoning.
