Story time

Miz Styles and Morrison work their comedic magic and tell their version of a kids story. It was very silly but actually pretty effective. Community theater at its finest. Sheamus had enough and came out to make AJ Styles fight him right then and there.

Sheamus vs AJ Styles

Of course the challenger for the WWE Championship, AJ Styles, wins. Gotta keep Styles strong heading into his title match. Sheamus was assaulted with a chair after the match.

Hurt Business vs Hardy & New Day

Hardy seems to have an extra bit of people in his step with Riddle backing him up. I like the idea of Riddle and Hardy teaming up. The Hurt Business wins, cool closing sequence as well. Lashley is such a beast, he is doing some of his best work this year.

Lana vs Nia Jax [c]

Asuka gives Lana a vote of confidence before her match. Lana then goes out and steals one from Nia Jax. Shayna jumps Asuka from behind in the back, giving Jax the opportunity she needed to completely destroy Lana. Taking Lana out of the tag team title match this weekend at TLC.

Look who’s walking

Elias has a new friend and its Jaxson Ryker! Ryker even got to speak, let’s hope this rehabbed character gets over. R Truth and his merry band of underutilized talent, the 24/7 gang, is wiped out by Ryker.

Keith Lee vs Miz & Morrison

This may sound like a dumb idea but that’s because he is but that’s great for Keith Lee ,hes a silly babyface that makes mistakes by taking on more than he handle in the name of justice. He wants to set two heels straight for attacking a man while he was down and outmatched. Lee loses but the match did what it was supposed to do, establish Miz and Morrison as crafty veterans and make Keith Lee look like a tough SOB in the process.

Hide and seek

Randy Orton challenges Bray Wyatt to a game of hide and seek. Riddle, R Truth and others get in on the act. Orton plays mind games as well as anyone in WWE history. Too bad the announcers were terrible, they undersold this angle so badly. I legitimately thinking added an oldschool feel to the feud when Orton tried to burn Bray Wyatt alive.

Ricochet vs MACE

Retribution are at commentary for this match

Mace pins Ricochet and that’s a big win for this group. I’m still holding onto hope for this group.

Dana Brooke vs Shayna Baszler [c]

Short match, I would have loved to have seen what Dana Brooke had, Mandy Rose comes back in the most lackluster way possible. It takes Asuka to save the day, diminishing the babyface but making Asuka the central focus as she should be as Champion.

Honorable mentions

  1. That dress that the interviewer was wearing was so ugly, I’m sick of these ugly clothes worn by this interviewer!

  2. AJ gets the best of Drew.

  3. Riddle Squashes MVP then avoids the Hurt Business.

Final take

The episode was cool, it was just enough for a go home show, could have maybe used a bit more salt.
