Raw Quick Takes 2/22/2021

A- Lister

The Chief Hurt Officer of the Hurt Business has come to collect his debt. Bobby Lashley puts Miz on the clock and demands he have a match. I hope Miz has the title at least until Mania but that may not be happening.

Riddle[c] vs Morrison

That boy Morrison cold, please put a title on this man by the end of the year. The match was a little slower than I like, the spots were obvious but it’s a great learning experience for Riddle. You could clearly see the level Riddle could be on one day if he dedicates himself the way John Morrison has. They should’ve had Riddle lose since it was a non title match then have to face Morrison with the title on the line after Morrison won another match against Riddle. This loss does nothing for Morrison but hurt him, Riddle could have beaten Drew Gulak or Tozawa.

New Day vs Retribution

Another L for the worst faction in decades; Why? Maybe Ali is gonna kick out someone or be kicked out himself. All I know is that New Day doesn’t need wins but Retribution does, whatever story they are telling they better

Times up

Bobby Lashley wanted his match but Miz has other plans. Braun wants in on the title shots so his music hits and he interrupts, blaming Shame and Adam Pearce for their lack of booking skills.

Shane comes out and chimes in making a match for tonight with a stipulation.

LuchaHouseParty vs Hurt Business

Tornado tag

Shelton Benjamin was just lost, he had no idea what to do in this match at times. Lucha House Party lost again, there are currently no tag teams on Raw that are remotely close to a championship opportunity.

Garza vs Priest

Bad Bunny plays a role in Damian Priest beating Garza. Bad Bunny equals good business. He’s 24/7 Champion, with Priest by his side, he will be champ until he no longer wants to be. Garza is at least on television but he needs wins.

Asuka[c] & Charlotte vs Nia[c] & Shayna[c]

Charlotte looks invincible while Asuka screams in pain and gets kicked in the face. Typical bad booking. Maybe Ric Flair will manage Asuka. Unfortunately I believe that Asuka will lose to Charlotte at Wrestlemania AGAIN and lose AGAIN. It’s always all about Charlotte…until Rhea Ripley comes along…hopefully.

AJ Styles vs Ricochet

Everyone is being fed to AJ Styles to keep him strong but why? Ricochet really needs wins. Styles is fine, he doesn’t need a title or wins, he needs a feud worthy of his talents.

Lashley vs Braun Strowman

If Braun wins, he gets added to the title match with Miz and Lashley next week. Lashley definitely pulled the good side out of Braun, the match was good. Wasn’t expecting a clean win but Lashley pulled it off. Next week Drew will no doubt stop Lashley from becoming WWE Champion.

1. Rhea Ripley is on her way to Raw.

2. Orton is turning into the new/next Fiend and he’s spitting up black goo.

3. Dana Brooke & Mandy Rose vs Naomi & Lana was a thing.

4. Sheamus beats Jeff Hardy for no reason.

Final take

The end of the show felt rushed, like some segments ran long but it was solid. Things felt a little weird but that’s because some major shake ups happened this episode. Raw is only going to get better.
