Let Miz talk

There were some legitimate points Miz brought up but of course it didn’t matter because he had a date with destiny.

Lashley[c] vs Miz

The show opened up with Miz talking, the segment ended with Miz tapping out. Bobby Lashley looked just as dominant as he did when he captured his first WWE title last week.

Monster demands

Shane reveals himself as a heel, stalling for time to either remember his lines or as tension; it didn’t work. Shane must have just not had a script or simply forgotten it. The segment should have had more than Shane coming out and apologizing.

Sheamus vs Drew McIntyre

No disqualification… maybe UFC can learn a thing or two from that stipulation. I like the work they’ve done together, really physical matches with brutal spots. I really wanna see even more, maybe have them become a tag team later in the year. Sheamus is knocked out cold when the two men collide with steel steps, that’s how this one ends.

Xavier Woods vs Shelton Benjamin[c]

Excellent Mortal Kombat gear from Woods and Xavier. Good win for Woods, New Day is getting a title shot and that sounds about right. This keeps the titles relevant and keeps the division from being completely irrelevant.

Riddle[c] vs Slapjack

Bout time they let Slapjack show off what he can do. Riddle was able to win but it wasn’t as easy as he thought, that’s what I loved about this match. Retribution going after Riddle seems legitimate, he needs a feud and they need to be relevant. Let Ali put on a classic with Riddle for the title at Wrestlemania and call it a day.

Tag titles on the line

Nia Jax[c] & Shayna Baszler[c] vs Lana & Naomi

Reginald accompanies the champs because Nia thinks he’s cute I guess. Should have saved this match for FastLane. I don’t know what they’re doing but I just don’t care at the moment. I don’t want to see Naomi and Lana or any other tag team in the women’s division at the moment other than the champs and Kai and Gonzalez.

Orton vs AJ Styles

Wrestlemania rematch, finally we get to see this match again. This was better than the Wrestlamania match they had, it felt like it meant more somehow. Styles really brought it out of Orton tonight; everything was vintage Orton. Alexa appeared on screen, distracting Orton, leading to a loss.

Honorable mentions

  1. R Truth segment with Braun.

  2. Rhea Ripley video package.

  3. Kevin Patrick johns the broadcast team, about time they got a dude back there, he’ll actually stand out more than whatever flavor of the month they stick out there.

  4. Should have had a much longer segment with Mandy, Charlotte and Dana.

Final take

Lots of build and setup to other things on tonight’s show. The show could have been a lot better but it’s ok to let this one slide, there was also no Bad Bunny on this show. Next week should be better and centered around Bobby Lashley.
