Lashley ‘s ladies
He likes em THICK but more importantly he likes to celebrate. As WWE Champion Bobby Lashley needs to entertain us and this is what they came up with, not bad. Overexposed Drew McIntyre came interrupted. Lashley, MvP and the audience is sick of it at this point. Kofi is also sick of Drew getting chance after chance so Adam Pearce makes the match with the winner becoming the #1 contender. Everyone was talking over each other and it was a bit of a mess but Roman would have gotten destroyed in this segment.
Kofi vs Drew
Winner goes to Hell in a Cell to face Lashley. The match was really good, had all the elements it need and then some. Drew can work with anybody, do anything he needs to. Virk’s voice cracking is weird, throwing off most moments he yells. MVP and Lashley attack the two competitors after being mixed up in an attack outside of the ring.
Beat the clock challenge
Cross vs Ripley
Nikki Cross finally gets some television time and Charlotte is talking about beating her in 2 minutes. What kinda shit is this 2 minute match? What is that music? The next question is, will they actually build Cross up or will she just be fodder? Rhea Ripley tears into Charlotte in the backstage segment but failed to beat Cross in 2 minutes. So glad they didn’t bury Nikki in her return.
Asuka is Charlotte again
All this says is that Charlotte can’t work with anyone but top talent. Move up Jessi Kamea, Aliyah and Mercedes Martinez, the Robert Stone Brand would make good use of Charlotte.
Now the match was pretty damn good, these two have history, chemistry and experience together. No reason to give Charlotte her win back, what was the real point of giving the win to Asuka, you cant even have Charlotte cheat?! Roman cheats most of the time and has a clean win when he really needs it. Book Charlotte like Roman ot send her down to the bottom of the card with Mandy and Dana, two other talents they have misbooked.
Shelton Benjamin vs Cedrick Alexander
WWE has been telling this story since before the Hurt Business started. Alexander cut a lengthy prematch promo that went on way too long at least it had fire. Long, hard fought battle with Cedrick picking up the win, getting his win back. I’m done with this feud, hope they both move on to something meaningful. Let Jeff Hardy get some wind over Shelton then let him feud with Alexander.
Riddle vs Woods
Riddle is putting in work since being on Raw, he was a brief United States Champion but man has he been athletic, not going easy out there. Xavier Woods was a quarter step behind but it was his best match since coming back from injury. After everything, Riddle wins with the unthinkable, an RKO. The internet is calling it the BroKO. As much as I hate seeing so many rematches, we absolutely need to see this one.
AJ Styles[c] vs Ryker
Styles starts off fast, Elias sneaks in and hits styles with a knee coating AJ the match. Omos takes care of Elias on the ramp after running him down. They need to add a manager or something to this feud because its boring and doesn’t make sense. Also, Ryker isn’t very good.
Humberto vs Sheamus[c]
So glad Humberto is okay after his injury in his last match. I hate this ref, Sheamus pulled the tights and he didn’t see shit. This ref runs my suspension of disbelief, he’s as bad as the AEW refs. Post match beatdown is what Sheamus was looking to do to Humberto but Ricochet saves him and Sheamus gets beatdown instead. They kinda beat Sheamus’ ass before he got out of there.
Women’s Tag Team Championship rematch
Reggie cost them the match as we saw coming.
Next week Shayna gets a piece of Reggie in a match. I liked what I got, I just didn’t want it at the end of the show. It’s kind of like having a really good meal then eating a subpar desert.
Honorable mentions
John Morrison will be the breakout star when the touring starts again.
Final take
The wrestling has really been the focal point of the show for a while and it’s a strong point that makes the show very watchable. Jason Jordan being the lead producer has really made things great inside the ropes on both shows.
