Rematch
A tag team title match is good to open a 3 hour show with. Styles and Omos take on the New Day in a damn good match. Decent promos before the match and non stop action in the ring, exactly how this show needs to deliver in every segment. The champs retain and New Day need new rivals.
Eva-lution
I’m excited to see a returning talent be featured as a big deal. Mickie James has been utterly ridiculous since being released from the company, so out with the old and in with the new-ish. Eva Marie is rumored to have greatly improved and I for one believe it. Along she was signed a while ago so Mickie James doesn’t have a leg to stand on with that bullshit. And another thing Mickie James has lost a step, a considerable step maybe a couple steps. Who the hell is she kidding? She says that women should be able to wrestle as long as their male counterparts, well she looks like Jericho in the ring so it’s time for her to leave. Anyway, Eva Marie will be a nice throwback to the diva’s era that I think is missed. We know we have athletes in the women’s division, now let’s see some star personality. With that said, she has not gotten any better at acting.
Dana Brooke vs Charlotte
She’s the queen from Alice in Wonderland, now I get it. Bow a knee is like off with his head. New music for Dana, it’s pretty good, it’s her 15th change in the music department so let’s hope this one sticks. Dana did as well as she could but Charlotte just sucks at getting others over. She can’t act, she can’t sell, she botches moves, she is the furthest thing from a ring general. Charlotte wins after looking terrible and holding back poor Dana.
Sonya’s music hits and she adds the queen to the match at the next PPV. Rhea and Asuka come out next, one by one while Charlotte stands in the middle of the ring. This is the booking that holds Dana Brooke back, the type of booking that pins Shayna every week, the type of booking that let’s Nia stay the strongest woman in the division while being carried by Baszler.
Trainwreck of a segment.
Morrison vs Damian Priest
Miz cost Morrison, didn’t see that coming, I thought Morrison would lose clean. The Miz and Morrison break was inevitable. I just hope we actually get something out of it.
Cedrick & Shelton vs Lucha House Party
Shelton takes the pin and Cedrick blames Shelton for their losses. The match was not bad but the aftermath was much better. Alexander is pissed and grabbed a mic to let Benjamin know that they were done.
Mansoor vs Sheamus
Sheamus beat dat ass. Mansoor never had a chance but he never gave up. Humberto interferes to get pay back but he and Mansoor caught a Brogue Kick instead. Put the US tittle on Humberto because he chased it for so long plus he would have such compelling matches with every challenger. Have Keith Lee return and take the title. Or have Keith Lee return on SmackDown only to lose to Roman then feud with King Corbin.
Alexa’s borehouse
This act is old because she doesn’t do anything. The slow burn isn’t the way to go with every single angle. DO SOMETHING!
Naomi & Lana vs Shayna[c] & Nia[c]
Sloppy match. It’s always the case with Nia and/or Naomi. It wasn’t Naomi’s fault though. We have not been talking about how bad Nia truly is but she is shit, she is terrible, they need to rush people to the main roster and force her out!
Bobby Lashley[c] vs Braun Strowman
Before the show a coin flip decided who would face the champ tonight, good choice. The other man would face the champ next week. Braun booked as a big man is a mistake. Seth Rollins had the best match with him overall. This match was decent but nothing I really cared about.
Honorable mentions
Virk needs to go to some commentary workshops.
Gulak picks a fight with Garza. Nice to see something happening with these two
Riddle & Randy vs Elais & Ryker is just what we needed.
Riddle talks to the Viking Raiders
Final take
The show was enjoyable, the main them was interesting and the supporting segments weren’t bad at all. That’s about as good as it gets for a final take with the dive this program as a whole has taken. It’s still watchable.
