Raw starts with Randy Orton in a backstage promo, recounting his actions from last week in vivid detail. The legend killer is then interrupted by the WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre, to remind Orton of who he’s dealing with.
6 woman tag alert
Asuka [c], Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke vs Zelina Vega, Natalya & Lana
Of course the good guys win this one. Asuka should have a better feud right now but at least Dana and Mandy are being used. As for Zelina, she needs something to make her be taken more seriously. Nia Jax and Shayna destroy Lana and Natalya again.
Dominik & Humberto vs Seth & Murphy
Can’t go wrong with a Dominik Mysterio match, unless you put one on against the same people every week. At least Humberto helped break up the monotony. Humberto was on a roll until he flew into Murphy’s knee. Excellent finish, super abrupt. I feel like Dominik and Humberto should have won though.
Disciple>Messiah
Seth and Murphy demand apologies from one another but things go south when Seth goes too far and Murphy turns on the man that saved his career. The feud this program needs is about to make the undercard mean something more on Raw.
The KO Show
Friends, how many of us have them, friends, ones we can depend on. Bray Wyatt sends a warning to KO and Owens goes looking for Bray Wyatt after mocking him.
Braun Strowman vs Keith Lee
With no Raw Underground tonight, Braun wanted a fight with whomever he could pick one with. Keith Lee steps up to the challenge and the two men destroy each other after a bullshit count out by the ref. These two tore each other apart; I can’t wait for more.
Apollo & Ricochet vs Hurt Business
For those of you crying for Ricochet to get a push, tell him to get better on the mic because he kills any momentum he has when he opens his mouth. Apollo is submitted by Lashley then laughed at by the big bass of Raw. Mustafa Ali challenges MVP backstage.
Riott Squad vs Nia Jax [c] & Shayna Baszler [c]
Good title match, great work from both teams and Nia and Shayna are growing on me as a team. I only wish there were more teams that the champs could run through. The lack of depth in the tag divisions is startling.
What a twist
Retribution interrupts Ali’s match with MVP. The numbers game is against Hurt Business so MVP asked Ali to stand with them and he does. Ali walks up to the two toughest, biggest and meanest guys in Retribution and then he DIRECTS THEM! Ali turns and says, get them. Ali orders the swift and violent beatdown of the Hurt Business. All this time, Mustafa Ali has been running his own shadow organization a d he stands tall and proud in the middle of the ring in the aftermath.
Drew McIntyre [c] & The Street Profits [c] vs Roode-Dolph & Randy Orton
The match was fast paced and pretty good ,I wasn’t sure I really wanted to see it but wouldn’t ya know it, Orton pinned Drew McIntyre after hitting an RKO out of nowhere. Let’s hope that this isn’t just giving the visual we want at Hell in a Cell so that they can keep the belt on McIntyre. Orton is white hot right now, put the title on him until Edge gets back and let the stories tell themselves.
Honorable mentions
Adam Pearce is the real mvp.
Street Profits and Ric Flair Skittles commercial.
SmartEST, Bianca Belair vignette.
Gulak wins 24/7 title, only to lose it in a matter of minutes again.
Final take
Not exactly a paint by numbers show but grounded and centralized on the main characters as well as the main goals of the show which was, get people talking and build up the feuds. I cannot wait for Mustafa Ali to be the star of the show next week. Orton better watch out cuz there’s a new top heel coming for him.
