Heavily advertised through Raw and SmackDown this week, the King of the Ring tournament is back. It’s where stars are born and legacy is birthed. Here are your participants:

Raw

Miz, Ricochet, Cedric Alexander, Samoa Joe, Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Cesaro

SmackDown LIVE

Kevin Owens, Ali, Apollo Crews, Chad Gable, the Drifter, Andrade, Buddy Murphy, Shelton Benjamin-

Lets go straight down the list shall we:

The Miz– doesn’t stand much of a chance but I’d like to see him in a couple matches, maybe another match against Ricochet because the first one was pretty good. Sami Zayn and Cesaro would also be great opponents for Miz to get some credibility wrestling; gaining momentum towards a push.

Ricochet– here’s my pick for dark horse in this tournament. I believe that King Ricochet going by and living his name on WWE should definitely happen. A babyface winner isn’t really something that works but this could be the feather in Ricochet’s cap that he needs to be in the main event picture for years to come.

Cedric Alexander- one of the biggest underdogs in the tournament, Cinder has the chance to meet Murphy in the finals, launching his career into a big push from WWE.

Samoa Joe- he always loses and the King of the Ring will be NO DIFFERENT! If by some miracle Joe makes it to the finals then and only then, there will be hope.

Drew McIntyre- the favorite to win it all. I feel as though Drew McIntyre may finally get the recognition he deserves by winning something so prestigious. I’d keep Drew away from Seth for a while because of their past matches on Raw and heat him up towards Royal Rumble time.

Baron Corbin- the most feared man in the WWE Universe…for all the wrong reasons.

Sami Zayn- a good warm up match for whomever he faces. Sami and Miz are least likely to win and are just fodder for the cannon the break out stars are being shot out of.

Cesaro- the king of swing can now put his shirt from years ago to good use. A win here would do wonders for Cesaro who never quite made it to the expectations of fans. A supremely talented guy that would threaten Seth at the highest level; that’s a feud that I could watch for months.

Kevin Owens- he ain’t winning. Drew and Elias are both in the tournament and he ain’t getting past either one. It would be cool for KO to win but we know better.

Ali- let’s see if Mustafa Ali can climb the mountain once again and get the title shot Kofi snagged from him. Ali just doesn’t have the momentum going into this to give me any confidence in picking him to win.

Apollo Crews- another enhancement talent looking for a push, perhaps he will break out but it is doubtful.

Chad Gable- Gable won’t go far but he will look great regardless of how short his stint in the tournament is.

Elias- the Drifter is only here to thwart Kevin Owens from succeeding.

Andrade- MY favorite to win it all. A feud with Seth after winning this tournament would really set Andrade up to be one the top heels on the main roster. Zelina and Becky could feud a bit, giving the overall story more to work with, with a couple different looks at various matches. Andrade is a title Co tender whether he wins or loses so I could see the title of King of the Ring going to someone else.

Buddy Murphy- the dark horse of many fans, Buddy Murphy has garnered high praise for his match against Roman Reigns. That has to have officials in the back high on Murphy, meaning a push could becoming from top brass. We all know Murphy has what it takes to be a star we just need to see how bright they will let him shine.

Shelton Benjamin- just here to make someone look good but you know he’s going to do that job very well. Doesn’t matter who he faces, it’ll be a good match, great for TV and a nice boost to whomever he puts over.

Not sure who is going to be crowned but that is a good thing because we can all just sit back and enjoy the ride.
