SmackDown Cliff Notes 7-10-20

Jeff Hardy joins Miz TV. Miz and Morrison show a video package of the Sheamus feud to push Jeff’s buttons. Miz and Morrison suggest a “bar fight” as the type of match that should bring their beef to an end. Hardy punches Miz in the face and Miz accepts the invitation to the match. Jeff Hardy wins a long battle even after Sheamus appears on the big screen to try and distract Jeff.

Karaoke

I am guilty of doing karaoke during this difficult time. Pandemic karaoke is fun. The segment was actually done extremely well, it was the best acting I’ve seen from the midcard of women’s division in a while. Naomi and Lacey Evans had a match after it was all said and done and it appears that Lacey has turned heel because she lost a karaoke battle. It was actually a segment that progressed some things though. The ladies had some fun and let their hair down in a different kind of segment then we are used to and Evans turned. Evans needs to be a heel because she fits best in that roll.

Tag team titles are on the line

I’m glad Cesaro and Shinsuke are tired of New Day, I know I am. The New Day had a rebuttal that invoked Denny Green. I was not a fan of the finish at all. I understand that the feud must continue so that we can get more matches but a clean loss would not have been the worst thing, it doesn’t matter because there are going to be more matches between these two teams. So we get a disqualification so that we can get some sort of crazy stipulation at Extreme Rules.

1. Sasha and Bayley beat Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss.

2. Braun vs Bray replay.

Final take

You can say that tonight’s episode was phoned in but it wasn’t bad. Not very newsworthy but a lot some point WWE is going to have shows like this where they are just working with what they got.
