Alexa Bliss vs Nikki Cross

The two hottest acts in wrestling kick off the show being the annoying heels. Eventually, Sasha and Bayley join commentary for a match between two best friends that they set up. Cross wins a really well done and hard fought match.

Post match:

Bliss and Cross hug it out.

Firefly Funhouse

Bray Wyatt continues his masterful character development in this very short but sweet episode where he assures us that the old Bray Wyatt won’t come out again. Old Bray had his chance and now the Fiend is here to stay.

Riddle vs Nese

He may not do much else these days but Tony Nese is an excellent enhancement talent. Riddle made short work of Nese then calls out King Corbin. Corbin is very underrated as a heel and those who don’t know that aren’t familiar with his work. Corbin put out a king’s ransom on Riddle and I’m interested to see where that goes.

Miz TV

Special guest Naomi addresses the internet buzz, an excellent way to use trends to your advantage. Corey Graves was absolutely right with his participation trophy comment though. Miz and Morrison do a great job at antagonizing Naomi and the Seth Rollins sick meter is pretty funny. The hosts invite Lacey Evans out to take more shots at their guest but Naomi gets the last laugh.

Lince Dorado vs Shorty G vs Metalik vs Gulak

AJ Styles joins commentary and points out that none of these men deserve a title shot whether they win or not. This match really displayed exactly why these guys should get a shot at the IC Championship. Metalik got the pin and next week he gets his biggest match and opportunity in WWE ever.

Bar Fight

Great sit down talk before the match. Done much better than some other cinematic matches but not quite the Boneyard match. WWE continues to hit home runs with these matches so why not keep em coming I suppose.

Honorable mentions

  1. Big E is due for a singles run and Jodi’s injury has jumpstarted that process.

  2. Shinsuke and Cesaro talk crap about winning their titles.

Final take

I really like the way the show is starting these days. Another strong outing for SmackDown, Fox shouldn’t be worried about much, if anything at all.
