The Dirt Sheet
Miz talks about Mandy Rose being traded. Otis and Tucker beat that ass because they are sick of the Miz and his antics. Later, Otis is served papers, the Miz has filed a lawsuit and is threatening to take his money in the bank contract away. If anyone were to get the contract I would hope it would be Morrison.
Gran Metalik vs Cesaro [c]
This should have been a 30 minute instant classic, these two deserve all the TV they want. I think Lucha House Party needs to win the titles and Cesaro and Shinsuke should split and have a singles run on RAW. Somehow things need to change so we can see these athletes in better stories and matches.
A moment of Bliss
Nikki Cross ask the hard questions of Alexa and Bliss plays dumb. Lacey Evans ruins the entire vibe with a stale act, while the segment was awful, it wasn’t AEW levels of bad.
Lacey Evans vs Nikki Cross
Evans has improved so much and it flies right under the radar. Hand sanitizer was used by Lacey in the match and that should have been a disqualification but Cross won anyway and will lose to Bayley for the millionth time unless Sasha Banks cost Bayley the match. Alexa was great on commentary delivering a Sister Abigail Evans.
AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn [c]
Zayn attacks styles after Styles wins then Jeff Hardy attacks them both with a ladder. This feud just got extreme; Jeff Hardy challenges Styles and Zayn to a triple threat ladder match At Clash of Champions.
Samoan street fight
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs Sheamus & Baron Corbin
Roman had a very babyface like roll in the match which was kinda weird but the Samoan machine keeps on going as Jey and Roman pull off the victory. Jey taunts Roman a bit and the two hug. The face Roman makes when Jey leaves the ring means that this ain’t over and that the chief is in no mood to share his island and no mood to play games.
The Boss speaks
Great acting from Banks, Emmy level stuff. I felt every word of the promo. Then we get an absolute perfect heat moment when Bayley attacks Sasha during the interview.
Honorable mentions
Vignette from Matt Riddle.
Big E gets revenge
Paul Heyman narrating the battle of the bloodline vignette is awesome.
Final take
I don’t know if the Matt Riddle segment was smart, it’s too soon for Riddle to be on television if he should even be with the company at all. Reigns’ new roll has reignited interest in SmackDown and is the glue that holds things together but other stories seem small by comparison.
