Impromptu triple threat

Corey Graves mediated a meeting of the minds when a triple threat match breaks out after Sami Zayn throws a ladder into Styles. Adam Pearce has become the defacto authority figure and its seems necessary At the moment. Not sure why they gave away the match just days before the PPV but it was a pretty good match. Zayn steals the pin from AJ. Styles takes them both so that he could pause with both titles.

Otis and Miz

Tucker is utilized pretty well when not in the ring but Morrison is so talented that everyday that he isn’t some sort of champion is a waste. I want Otis to Clash in on Cesaro and Shinsuke, that’s how I want the briefcase used, not as a prop for comedy, although the comedy is good.

Shinsuke [c] vs Gran Metalik

Good match, a bit of a waste to be on an episode of SmackDown. Cesaro took out Lince Derado afterwards and Lucha House Party can’t seem to get right. I am not sure what will happen with the tag team titles but Cesaro and Shinsuke need to be invested into more than they have been.

Corbin vs Riddle

Corbin is such an underrated talent, he cut a great prerecorded promo in the back before his match with Riddle which actually got me excited to see the match; it was pretty good. Riddle and Corbjn work well together which is why they are feuding, if it keeps going it’ll need a lot more substance though.

Dark Bliss

Alexa Bliss has turned to the dark side, ending her match with Lacey Evan’s in a disqualification and another Sister Abigail. Evan’s was used poorly here, Naomi would have been a better wrestler to use or a squash of a jobbers. Call up Kayden Carter and let her take the loss to Bliss. The long stare Bliss gave Reigns on the ramp is some good foreshadowing but I think it’s too soon for a match with the Fiend. Bliss may be in line for a title shot if the rumors about Cross being out because of covid are true.

Uuuuu-soo

Jey Uso calls out Roman Reigns about the dirty look he gave him last week after the match but Heyman made sure Roman waited until the end of the show to confront Jey. Jey dropped the promo of his life and superman punched for his troubles. Speaking of excellent promos, Reigns dropped a great one over the body of Jey Uso after he dropped him on stage. I’m all in on everything Roman right now, he hasn’t even changed his character.

Honorable mentions

  1. Bayley has a message for Nikki Cross

Final take

A great ending to a lukewarm go home show. I am excited but not as excited as I wanted to be.
