Gronk is gonna Gronk
Very happy for Mojo Rawley to share that moment with his best friend, a guy that has loved wrestling and wanted into the WWE since childhood. Mojo
and King Corbin is a great personality to pair with a talent like Gronk especially when it comes to in ring performance.ias and Corbin are going to be terrible at Wrestlemania, Elias has holes in his game and they will have a spotlight on them at the grandest stage of them all. Corbin and Elias don’t work with no audience, I’m not sure they work period; I am not into this feud.
Gronk has some great chops by the way. Gronks music is the worst.
Daniel Bryan & Drew Gulak vs Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro
They are making Gulak look world class, which is what he has been for years.
Really cool feud with some great wrestlers, Wrestlemania needs to have a rematch of this match to kick things off. Instead we are going to get a triple threat with Sami, Drew and Bryan, I’ll take that match as a great substitute.
Turn the Paige
Paige returns and does such a wonderful job that Bayley was actually entertaining in this segment. Paige announces that Bayley will face the entire SmackDown women’s roster basically. Paige has always been an important asset, utilized as best she can be by WWE, this segment was no different. Paige makes whoever she works with look great and stand out much better than they do without/before her.
Alexa calls out Asuka
I don’t like the idea of Asuka not running through Bliss because Alexa just isn’t on a level that’s conceivably decent to wrestle someone of Asuka’s pedigree. Maybe there will be a false ending that gets us to the Wrestlemania match anyway. Both women’s divisions need significant increases in talent to use Asuka the way she should be used, I can’t see how Asuka and Shayna can remain on the same brand. As for Nikki Cross, she deserves a better title push than the one she got on the main roster. Nikki Cross can hang with Asuka and I would like to see that with a main event title on the line, not “novelty belts”.
Hey hey, ho ho
Miz and Morrison have a segment on the dirt sheet making fun of the tag team division.
Dolph pushes Otis to the edge and cost Heavy Machinery the match against Miz and Morrison and an opportunity for the tag team titles and Wrestlemania. It’s cool to see a fire lit under Otis but if this doesn’t end in Otis being better off then what was this all for? Miz & Morrison just got the titles and do a fine job with them so let them keep them a while.
Spear vs Spear
No way Roman Reigns is a babyface right? What a weak staredown, that segment was just kinda weak, I blame Goldberg on this one though. Roman isn’t great at promos but he nailed his part. Goldberg had like 1 line and he was about to fuck that up. I don’t think Roman redeemed himself from last week, in fact I think he leaned into the promo more. This was still a good showing from Roman, the face off was ok for a final visual but it was just missing a certain intensity because both men are trash on the mic.
Honorable mentions
Bray Wyatt vs Cena at Wrestlemania replay.
Final take
The show felt pretaped, I know that’s because they overproduce their shows but this show felt far less produced than Raw for some reason. I had more to say about things than I thought, the show ended up being very productive and eventful as well.
