The Kevin Owens show
Kevin Owens made his intentions known, that he would launch his career even further by winning the King of the Ring tournament. Shane interrupted to fine Kevin Owens in a 15 minute segment. At least there was a wrestling match right after this.
The Queen and the war goddess
Nothing to see here but a clunky match with very little chemistry. Ember and Charlotte did what they could but tonight was not their night. The commercial break also made the match feel disjointed to me.
Murphy’s Law
Great debut for Buddy Murphy. Looks like he may be getting a well deserved push after all. Performances like that against top guys like Roman will take you places and gain you much favor within any company.
Stun Owens Stun
New shirt from KO is going to sell out immediately. Samoa Joe scored a quick pinfall after special enforcer Elias did a quick count while the other official was out. I’m sure this build up is leading to KO vs Shane inside a Hell in a Cell after a lengthy suspension when KO loses his mind on an official.
Under duress
Buddy Murphy was beat up in the locker room again. This time by Rowan while Daniel Bryan got Murphy to say he was lying. We now know that Daniel Bryan did it. Gotta make Buddy look very strong after being everyone’s bitch the past two weeks.
Revival of the 6th man
The viper came out to taunt Kofi, sparking a 6 man tag match between New Day, the Revival and Randy Orton. The Revival and the Apex Predator got to stand tall at the end of the show.
Good wrestling throughout the show with Buddy Murphy being the star of the night. Lots of promotion and recap of other things, SmackDown itself felt like it took a back seat to everything else going on in the company, something that happens too often.
