Daniel Bryan’s promo is the usual stuff we hear from Royal Rumble entrants. Bryan is usually much better with his words but he was stumbling over his words a bit. AJ Styles shows up to challenge Daniel Bryan and halt his dreams like he did R Truth and Drew Gulak.

Bianca Belair vs Bayley

The EST got the bEST of Bayley. No doubt a huge upset but also a huge win for Bianca to go along with her huge push. I’m all for it, I just hope she can keep up with the rigors of a push like hers. The fans turn quickly.

Dominik vs Corbin

Clean win for Corbin again. We all see it coming, Corbin will be thrown out of the Royal Rumble. I like this feud and the matches are really solid.

Final showdown

Reigns and Owens tear into each other. Reigns gets irritated and just shuts off his end of the broadcast. Kevin Owens has been on fire and it’s possible that he wins the title at the Rumble.

AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan

For once we got a full match. Cesaro sat at commentary and you know the match won’t have a good ending. That all leads us to…

Impromptu 6 man tag…10 man tag

Cesaro starts fighting, Big E kicks Sami’s ass and Miz, Morrison and Otis intervene. Shinsuke ends on opposite teams as Cesaro and all kinds of craziness. Shemaus is a late to the party to even the odds and gets the win for his team. Strowman shows up and takes Cesaro and Sami OUT.

Honorable mentions

1. Natalya vs Tamina on Backstage, winner enters at 30.

2. Sasha is in rare form on the mic.

3. Big E tried to bribe Sonya to find out his Rumble number but Miz and Morrison wanted to be jerks instead. Love the gamestop reference by Morrison, so did Big E.

Final take

Gonna be a good Rumble. This show phoned it in but that’s ok because it set the stage for a big event.
