Stephanie and HHH kick off the show, I like the job they did
Anarchy, makes sense that all of those people got tired of being cool and standing around and started fighting each other.
Lars Sullivan crashes the party takes out Kalisto, Street Profits,Apollo and Shorty G.
Jeff Hardy vs Lars Sullivan
Lars upsets the former Intercontinental Champion. Hardy should have went over on a roll up and been beaten down by Lars after the match to set up a feud. It may be too much, too soon for Lars already.
Cesaro, Shinsuke & Sheamus vs New Day [c]
Couldn’t take the commentary, it was just too fake. I understand it’s the season premiere but take it down a notch or 3. New Day retain, of course, no surprise there. The match was unnecessary to keep, we just saw the match so just let New Day start their reign on RAW.
Daniel Bryan in the ThunderDome
Daniel Bryan comes face to face with Seth Rollins and we are all salivating at the thought of this feud. But what actually happened was the same Mysterio vs Messiah angle. The Mysterio family doesn’t trust Buddy Murphy and we are going to get more of the same.
Street Profits [c] vs Roode-Dolph
A much quicker match than I expected and than what I wanted. The Street Profits are a much fresher act than New Day, I welcome them to Friday nights.
Face to face
Bayley did some fantastic work on the mic as she has been doing during her year long title reign. Sasha points out that Bayley was left behind on NXT, a deep blow to Bayley. I am not exactly sure what this match will be like but I’m hoping it lives up to the hype.
Braun Strowman vs Roman Reigns[c]
Pros made their picks which was a nice touch and something Fox needs to do a lot more of. The match was strong for Roman, Braun looked like Braun. Reigns wins via guillotine and beats down Strowman afterwards. Jey Uso saves the day and is then knocked out by Reigns.
Honorable mentions
Daniel Bryan isn’t afraid of COVID-19 anymore.
Bianca Belair vignette.
HHH endorses Rhea Ripley on the kickoff show.
Final take
Feels like HHH and Stephanie were freestyling, they are good enough talkers to be given that flexibility on the mic and its rrefreshing. A solid show from top to bottom with some interesting feuds on the horizon.
