Daniel Bryan gets everyone hyped up for Wrestlemania. His promo was great, I’m sure there are tons of people behind him now. That promo certainly makes me believe Daniel Bryan can win which is exactly what they want us to think. No interruptions, just a few minutes to deliver a great go home promo.
Fatal 4 Way
Profits are attacked in the back by the tag champs which kicked things off.
Match was good, about what you can expect from the caliber of talent in the ring. I didn’t see it as something you could put on a Wrestlemania card but certainly something that could be on the preshow which is what this essentially is. They had a real opportunity to put the titles on some fresh faces, instead they punted. I’m disappointed that Alpha Academy or Los Mysterios didn’t win.
Nia Jax[c] vs Tamina
I don’t know about this new gear but at least it’s new. The match was cool, we don’t get to see this sort of match often in the women’s division. Tamina could have really used that win to be the favorites in tag team turmoil. A silly diva segment backstage afterwards turns serious when they all actually attack each other instead of standing around arguing. At least Natalya and Tamina cleaned them up afterwards, standing tall once again emerging as the favorites of the women’s tag division.
Put some respek on his name
Edge promo…. he lost me, he shouldn’t be the heel he should be the clear face. I don’t want Daniel Bryan to win because it will ruin Edge’s 10 year story. The Rated R gimmick should have been saved for later, I am afraid it will damage Edge as a character.
Memorial Battle Royale
Jey Uso is the last to enter and the last to leave. Jey winning actually means something, the victory prompted Roman Reigns to come out and drop his ho home promo, possibly his best to date.
Honorable mentions
Seth Rollins’ smear campaign on Cesaro was awesome.
Sasha was overly animated and I wasn’t feeling the promo. Not a great go home promo, Bianca didn’t do much better in my opinion.
Final take
This was basically a preshow to Wrestlemania. Recaps and vignettes made up a good amount of the show. Promos were strong and finally the stage is set for the showcase of the immortals.
