No show Uso
Jimmy attempts to fill his brother’s shoes. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman aren’t so sure he’s got what it takes. Later, Heyman gets Jimmy Uso a match to mainevent SmackDown.
Seth & Bayley vs Cesaro & Bianca
Why is Bianca always skipping? Its not endearing anymore, its kinda goofy and arrogant for a babyface to be doing even for someone with Bianca’s gimmick. I got a feeling crowds are gonna hate her and male her struggle on the mic. Long generic promo with generic delivery. Still, it helped to tell the story, not too long ago, Roman Reigns couldn’t even do that on the mic.
Not just a great match to start the show but a great match to tell the stories of the two feuds. Bayley pins the champ with the help of Rollins. A television match worthy of the Thunderdome.
Long live the king
This is New Japan Nakamura, coming out in the all white suit, the throne, the crown; its all great. Rick Boogs introduces the king of strongstyle while his rival looks on. Corbin is back to Baron. I like what I’m seeing, the crown meant more to him than just a silly title. Hopefully WWE don’t blow the story with Corbin just attacking Nakamura out of nowhere.
Big E vs Apollo
Qualifying match
Good reason to run this match back.
Big E wins and says it over from this point forward. Perhaps this means that Biv E will actually get serious from now on. That would be a good idea since he is entering such a big match with so much on the line.
Sonya’s pick
Carmela is Sonya’s pick to enter the MITB match and its a really good pick. It makes sense. Liv Morgan ain’t having it so Sonya Deville made a match between Sonya and Liv right then and there. Liv beats Carmela, 2nd week in a row, now she has made her case to be added to the Money in the Bank match.
Jimmy Uso vs Dolph Ziggler
The match was satisfactory, can’t tell much of a better story than that. Tag team wrestlers just know how to tell an amazing story. If you can’t get past Dolph Ziggler then you’re not ready for the big time. Ziggler eats the pin and now Jimmy will get Roman’s respect, right?!
On the Edge of his tongue
Paul Heyman tells it like it is, listing Roman’s accomplishments, even speaking of those no longer with the company. Before Roman can get a word out, the music hits and its the Rated R Superstar himself. Edge has returned! He mopped up Roman and Jimmy then gave the hard camera all he had while Roman was on the ramp.
Honorable mentions
Sami vs KO in last man standing match, winner goes to MITB
Seth wants a shot at the title.
Final take
The best wrestling show on television delivers again, on all fronts. Big returns and big matches coming up will keep SmackDown on top and keep them in the news.
