Tribal Chief
Roman is full of it and now we see how he is, running game on his own cousin. It’s great. Roman lays a guilt trip on Jey Uso when Roman was the one that beat him down. Hell in a Cell awaits Jey Uso and another hellacious beatdown from his blood. Vast improvements from Reigns in his character, especially on the mic.
AJ Styles vs Jey Uso
Jey knocks off a former WWE Champion in a nice match. Singles competition comes easy for Jey Uso, Big E’s push is in serious trouble if you ask me. Styles has no future on SmackDown at all.
Morrison vs Oris
Otis wins with ease over Morrison. What a waste, Morrison is a high level athlete that should hold a title or be in a high level feud. Ricochet would be a great feud for Morrison but that’s not gonna happen. Maybe Rey vs Morrison, anyone with amazing skills would do the job.
Sheamus vs Shorty G
An unnecessary squash for both men. Shorty must be heading to RAW but honestly Sheamus needs to challenge Drew McIntyre.
Ignorance is Bliss
Alexa Bliss is on the KO show and the Fiend bust KO’s ass right there on the set after her interview. Bliss says to let him in and he was all up in Kevin Owens’ mouth. This leads to a match later.
6man tag
Cesaro, Nakamura & Corbin vs Lucha House Party and Riddle
Kalisto shows up to the party just to kick his own teammate in the face due some miscommunication and an unprompted assist. Riddle picks up the pinfall and Lucha House Party is heading to divorce court.
Jeff Hardy vs Sami zayn [c]
In a promo before the match, Zayn drops Hardy’s IC title in the garbage and he later holds onto Intercontinental gold. Zayn wins from an exposed turnbuckle. The match was good and a nice way to close the show, with wrestling.
Honorable mentions
Carmella is revealed as the mysterious woman in the vignettes.
Sasha Banks calls Bayley a bitch in her promo.
Final take
I much prefer the push of Jey Uso over Big E because Jey is actually someone you can take seriously. Sasha and Bayley are going to feud far too long and Lucha House Party needs some wins. SmackDown has a couple of really cool things going for it, other than that, talent is not doing much on the show. SmackDown needs to pick up the pace for me, I’m losing interest in the midcard.
