WARGAMES 2020: What does it all mean?

War Games has come and gone but we are left with the most important question, what does this mean?

Team Candice LaRae def. Team Shotzi Blackheart

What does this mean?

Raquel Gonzalez may be ready for a title match now. The losing team on the other hand, looks as if they are all taking a slight step back. Shotzi may be the only exception. Rhea has to move to Raw or SmackDown or she will be stuck in midcard hell with the likes of Indie Hartwell. This match just wasn’t a good fit for the immediate future of most of those involved.

Finn Balor promo

What does this mean?

This means that Balor is finally going to defend his title against someone. We all knew Kyle O Reilly was gonna lose no matter how physical things got. Balor needs to make that title mean something because right now it is very very weak.

Ciampa def. Thatcher

What does this mean?

Thatcher doesn’t really needs wins with the character he has but Ciampa is a big enough star that he did need a semi signature win. Thatcher is the future and needs to hold the North American Championship to be taken serious enough to be a contender for the NXT title and someone who can be seen as the best in the promotion.

Lumis def. Grimes in a strap match

What does this mean?

Unfortunately it means that Cameron Grimes is cooling off. Grimes is stuck in the midcard and that’s where he’ll stay as long as he is a comedy act. On the other side of things, Dexter Lumis may be challenging for the North American Championship very soon.

Karrion Kross is teased

What does this mean?

This obviously means that Kross is returning and that he will most likely reclaim his NXT title. I am all for that, Finn Balor needs to finish his unfinished business with Walter. Kross has enough babyface to keep him strong while Balor goes to NXT UK.

Gargano def. Ruff & Priest for the North American Championship

What does this mean?

Gargano was the only choice here, there are so many babyface contenders waiting to get a shot. Bronson Reed, Lumis, Kushida, Jake Atlas, all have a chance to face Johnny in a feud. My pick to dethrone Gargano is Isaiah Swerve Scott.

Undisputed Era def. McAfee, Dunne, Lorcan & Burch

What does this mean?

This means that Undisputed Era is going to try and climb to the top and grab all the NXT gold again. The tag champs, Pete Dunne and Pat McAfee need to find a meaningful feud in order to be relevant and they need to start that feud as soon as possible.
