By the numbers

NXT: 692,000

AEW: 683,000

-Showbuzz

Still not time to worry or panic, this means nothing. If I were Tony Kahn, I would still try and spice things up a bit so that this doesn’t become a trend. A win is a win but as I have said many times, the current circumstances make nothing seem like a win.

Final take

It appears that AEW may be losing steam. I’m curious to see what they have planned for Double or Nothing and other live shows because people have tuned out. When there is no buzz around AEW, their so-called fans don’t watch the product. AEW fans don’t watch TV, they binge watch things, this is the Netflix generation. It’s why AEW can’t consistently hold an audience for more than a two week span. Everyone in the world is at home right now, what’s the excuse?! It’s because it’s not cool to watch, because there is no attention on the product. The fans just watch for attention. WWE shows get millions of views despite whatever they do, AEW fans are supposed to be super supportive and stand for what’s right but the numbers say otherwise. The numbers say that if AEW ain’t the cool thing on the block then tik tok(or some other trivial past time) is here to replace it. Wrestling “fans”, yeah right.
