NXT should be concerned that their champions were on and didn’t draw particularly well and AEW should have raised eyebrows over their champion not drawing well. Sure, this week was important as far as stories go in AEW and there wasn’t an increase in viewership. The same can be said for NXT and that’s a big negative for wrestling as an industry.

Final take

I’ve been over the Wednesday wars for months now. I wish NXT or AEW had moved to Tuesday night so that the shows would at least be over one million viewers each. Instead they split viewership and it’s bad for both shows and that reflects poorly on the business. Maybe in 5 years one of the shows will move but by then it’ll be too late.
