With Fyter Fest around the corner, stories have taken shape and matches have been made. The only rivalry I’m concerned about is Moxley and Cage however.
Tag team division
AEW
Well everything is setup for FTR and the Young Bucks to collide at some point, no matter how contrived every single step of it was. Hope it was all worth it.
NXT
Everyone wants a piece and a multiman match is inevitable. I am hopeful that Lorcan and Burch will come out on top because they’ve worked so long for it. Imperium retaining with Lorcan and Burch continuing to chase is something I can get behind as well.
Midcard
AEW
Another debut, another loss to Cody. Now Ricky Starks is a guy who is going to be a star so he can take a loss to Cody but why book him in that match as his debut. Cody is going to amass wins on top of wins and he is the only person in the company that can absorb losses at this point.
NXT
Another multiman match coming your way to determine who will face Adam Cole in a match that is sure to end in an undesirable way. That belt isn’t coming off of Cole until Kross takes it at a Takeover.
Final take
NXT was another home run while AEW was a base hit. I’m still waiting on AEW to stop playing small ball and wow me but that doesn’t seem likely at this point. I don’t have any faith in the bookers whatsoever. It’s to the point where I can’t compare both shows because AEW fails so miserably at what they THINK they are knocking out of the park.
