AEW: 845K

NXT: 615K

Things are certainly back to normal, with NXT way down and AEW way up in viewership. The 250K loyalists have showed up for the other black and gold brand.

Honorable mentions

  1. Cody defending his title against anyone doesn’t actually make any sense. Win/loss records exist and because they do, they should be adhered to.

  2. I have mixed feelings about the return of Sammy Guevara.

  3. The North American Championship tourney is already very interesting.

Final take

AEW had a good show and NXT did as well. Neither show needs to cha get their formula at this point, just coast on the success you’re having at the moment. The ratings both shows already have are more than enough in the pandemic era, in fact they lost fewer viewers than most other shows and they still pull in more viewers than other sports.
