By the numbers

NXT: 759K

AEW: 715K

So the spoilers didn’t help AEW? Good! NXT and AEW did lose some viewers from last week but about 30K a piece so NXT maintained it’s viewership lead. Tony Khan is a petty guy, you hate to see it. Meanwhile, Jericho joins him in propping up the key demos in a losing effort. It’s one thing for Jericho to troll, that’s his job but there is a line and this comes off as desperate bullshit. Tony Khan needs to stay away from all forms of social media possible.

Tag division

AEW

AEW finally put their best foot forward and it showed. There was a ton of tag team wrestling on the show and between some top level guys that really know how to work their styles.

NXT

Imperium has some stiff competition ahead of them but they haven’t been available much. I like the tag team matches but better on this brand, obviously but they need to step it up in terms of making the division feel more important.

Honorable mentions

  1. Keith Lee made history, becoming the first double champ.

  2. Aubrey Edwards did her job but in the same annoying fangirl way.

Final take

In a 2 week period when they really needed to, AEW failed to beat the competition. It’d be great if PWTorch would write, “YIKES!” for one of their headlines about AEW when it came to the ratings. The poorly kept secret is out, AEW isn’t what they promised and fans aren’t interested anymore, I see it every day. The new car smell has warn off.
