By the numbers:

AEW: 901K

NXT: 753K

The bigger picture that is often left untold is the battle professional wrestling wages against other sports. MMA is regularly beat up by pro wrestling and the NBA is an afterthought. With the return of “real”sports, one would think that the whole world would be watching but the fact of the matter is that around the same number of people are watching pro wrestling. The NBA and MLB aren’t doing the numbers everyone thought they would and are actually floundering about if you ask me. Major league baseball and the NBA are faced with the same issues as any other sports and there is no way around it; there are no fans in the stands. I personally think it’s ridiculous to “need” fans to thoroughly enjoy wrestling but regardless of how I feel or what I think, it is a real problem and people just aren’t tuning in. Well, now we see that it’s just not pro wrestling with the “fans that need other fans to feel important” problem, pro wrestling belongs at the table, it has earned it’s seat at the table; the numbers don’t lie.

Final take

All is well in the wrestling world, two entities joined forces to stand against a common enemy. Wrestling has won the day so who cares who won in the ratings.
