Io, Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro vs Toxic Attraction[c] [c]

Io Takes on Toxic attraction with Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro who made their return last week. Catanzaro looked even better than usual, she continues to improve every time she steps into the ring. Mandy being bigger than her opponents is a good thing, makes her look a lot better than she used to, gives her an edge. Dolan gets the pin on Carter in a good opening match. NXT is not scared to lead with the women’s division, that’s because it’s 2nd oy to the main roster.

Kay Lee Ray vs Sarray

I thought this was going to be a squash, I’m glad it wasn’t. Sarray is really good and deserves a match that showcases her skills, this match was short but did just that. A good competitive match that was not easy for Ray to win. Sarray is a jobber right now but I hope they do something good with her; HHH is out of the picture so his favorites can’t be protected.

Boa vs Joe Gacy

Boa loses his mind and chokes Gacy, resulting in a DQ. That’s a good outcome for both parties involved. Don’t know what they’re doing with Boa but he needs to be protected so that they can actually tell the story. Gacy is still focused on Harland so NXT is telling 2 stories at once, good way to keep Gacy relevant so he has to stay strong as well. The booking is going to be very interesting for both Boa and Gacy because they both have to be booked strong but there seems to be a ton of people ahead of them in terms of pushes.

Jiro & Kushida (Jacket Time) vs the Creed Brothers

The Diamond Mine promo before the match was good as always. What I am concerned about is the two Japanese guys having a silly gimmick and having to be in a tag team together

Solos Sikoa vs LA Knight vs Grayson Waller

Solo Sikoa speaks and he wants to take on both Knight and Waller. Solo won but it just didn’t mean as much as it should have. I’m not so sure I’d have Solo facing these 2 for the hell of it. It seems as if Knight is on the backburner. Perhaps LA Knight will win the NXT title and have Bron Breakker take it off of him before he goes to the main roster.

Pete Dunne vs Hayes[c]

Hayes is having good matches with veterans and that is what matters most. They have derailed his progress with silliness but this will lead to a great match with Gargano. Lymis and Gargano got involved and I hated that, doesn’t matter that Hayes was protected in his loss, it matters THAT he lost.

Final take

War Games are coming up so next week will be a big step towards building feuds and making a card worthy of one of NXT’s best PPVs. There has to be some standouts soon or the roster will seem a bit chaotic. Everyone can’t be pushed and everyone can’t win titles, they need to move the future stars toward stardom soon.
