Dakota Kai vs Sarray

You wanna talk about next level, Sarray is exactly that. Ember Moon was not cleared so Kai stepped in as a late substitute. A hot opening match with two strong competitors. Kai wins clean, smart move to give Sarray a loss here instead of trying to fit it in later. Raquel Gonzalez runs Kai off before she does more damage to Sarray after the bell.

First date

Dexter picks up Indi at the house and it’s pure comedy. It was a much more PG version of the scene from Bad Boys 2. The Garganos follow the couple to the restaurant where Indi is talking Dexter’s ear off and he hasn’t said a word. Eventually Candice and Johnny are discovered by Indi and they go away.

Gigi Dolin vs Amari Miller

Great vignette for the new talent. Gigi has something, I mean something more than what we can clearly see. She is the first person in a long time to stand out in NXT for being different. What I mean is, she isn’t like anyone else, she brings a different energy, a real believability to her character. Jayce Jane looked the part as well, this pairing is definitely working for them and for the viewing audience e.

Face to face

William Regal mediates a special war of words for Cole and O’ Reilly. Each man gets to pick a stipulation for a fall. A straight up pinfall or submission. Atchison is first, picked by KOR, which is super lame. The second match is a street fight, chosen by Cole and the last fall is a cage match which we are sure they will get to. Kyle speaks well, he just doesn’t come across as interesting. Meanwhile, Cole destroys KOR on the mic.

Odyssey Jones vs Trey Baxter

Keith Lee will be gone by next summer if Vince sees Jones and Lee doesn’t get over with everyone. The man has everything, he’s young and he could very well be the future of the company. Easy win for Jones, very uninterested in that match. The new interviewer is a breath of fresh air though.

Boa vs Drake Maverick

I’m glad Maverick was protected, Boa needed some help to win so everyone looks the way they should. Give Boa some squash matches against some no names. The mist to the face should be a reason why he wins some of those matches as well. I like the pairing and can’t wait until they really let loose.

Year of the Dragun?

Earlier, Dragunov spoke about his upcoming match with Walter. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him speak, he is amazingly understandable. Well Pete Dunne wanted his credit for holding down the NXT UK title for so long. Dragunov thanked him with a match proposition.

Dunn vs Dragunov

Safe but brutal is how I would describe the match. A Symphony of hard hitting punches and I loved every minute. Keep in mind, these guys main evented the show and went easy on each other. I need to see a proper feud with these 2, let’s see what happens when they’ve got time to build. Walter eventually shows up during the match and cost Dragunov the win.

Honorable mentions

  1. Knight wins a squash match. Ted Dibiase negotiates a butler match.

  2. Thatcher and Ciampa promo.

  3. Msk cut a silly promo, they need to turn heel.

  4. Kross vs Joe vignette.

Final take

I’m here every week for this content. There were plenty of vignettes, matches and special guest appearances. This product doesn’t even compare to others considered to be better than or on the same level.
